Promises are async, so you can only use their outputs in the resolve function (basically the success callback)
Sorry if that's not clear, promises can be tricky to explain.
Basically the data you want is passed into the function you give to then, not returned by then.

@RationalCoding Thanks! I'll work on it

How do you make a JS calculator? I can make the click functionality and the actual program, but I have no idea how to make it look like a real calculator? How do I style and arrange the elements?
Miguel T Rivera
@mtrivera
@playingwithinfinity With CSS https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS

@playingwithinfinity
@riveratmiguel duh
I mean how?
Like make a table? If I make a table, the buttons are too far apart. If I use Bootstrap grid, then again, they are not centered and they are too far apart.
Thomas Mullen
@t-mullen
@playingwithinfinity There's many ways to do it! Try something you think will work, then tweak it until you get close.

This has to be the most frustrating challenge I've ever done.
Miguel T Rivera
@mtrivera
@playingwithinfinity Look into CSS Grid
https://appendto.com/2017/02/the-basics-of-using-css-grid/
I would not recommend a table. Table layout was popular during the 90's and is considered bad practice (Except HTML emails but that's another story)

@playingwithinfinity
Okay
@riveratmiguel How would a CSS grid differ from Bootstrap grid?
Chase
@Athabasco
Just finished my local weather app
Chase
@Athabasco

Thomas Han Jnr
@thanjnr

Chase
@Athabasco
@eThomasHan Oh... I haven't formatted anything for mobile

@eThomasHan Just let me know if it works in a separate window.

@whizcat Yup, what's your question
Josh Bailey
@joshbailey0
@Athabasco Hi, thanks. I have designed this page and want to center it in the browser window. Not too sure about how to go with it using Bootstrap. Here is the code pen

Josh Bailey
@joshbailey0

Chase
@Athabasco
@whizcat add the class to your div that embodies everything
with 'text-center'
Josh Bailey
@joshbailey0
Thanks!
Chase
@Athabasco
@whizcat click on the grey text beside my bold text of my name to highlight me so i can see easier
@whizcat or for anyone
Josh Bailey
@joshbailey0
@Athabasco so I added ---- <div class="container text-center"> to the very top tag but it didn't change the appearance
Chase
@Athabasco
@whizcat ok, create a new css class
label it what you want
include this
margin-right: auto;
margin-left: auto;
embody everything
Josh Bailey
@joshbailey0
@Athabasco Nice! I remember that now. One moment.
