But fair warning....all of codepen will require HTTPS soon - since you're just starting out, you probably want to try a different Weather API that works over HTTPS. They need to update the weather challenge... Weather Underground, Dark Sky, and Apixu are all free weather APIs that work over HTTPS

Once you get past a few hurdles, it becomes relatively easy. The first hurdle is mixing http and https. You're over that now. Next will be JSONP / CORS.
