I branched away from the input challenges to try and do it myself for a better understanding@roxroy

@UsamaHameed
What is the difference between npm run and just npm?
Jorge
@flawedLogic506
@UsamaHameed think it has to do with the scripts packages
@UsamaHameed if you do run, then you need to provide a command for npm to run .. if u just go npm it will list all scripts
something along those lines, can't remember 100% tho, sry .. maybe BackEnd can help you out
Matt
@Misaiah
I appreciate the help @roxroy
r2d2
@UsamaHameed
Is there a room for backend?
Jorge
@flawedLogic506
@UsamaHameed sure is .. HelpBackEnd
Roxroy
@roxroy
@Misaiah , follow the order of the challenges as it build on the next one.
Matt
@Misaiah
I will try @roxroy . I try and get into the habit of not only doing the challenges, but seeing if I can do it outside on my own too. and thats why I am where I am
Thanks again @roxroy

Roxroy
@roxroy
@Misaiah , That is correct, but the best way to learn is to follow a good roadmap and although it is good to skip ahead, you should not jump ahead too many steps. Otherwise you get lost and frustrated.
@UsamaHameed , are you doing the backend challenges, which one are you one.
Yahia
@y-zaky
hi guys i have a question
Matt
@Misaiah
@roxroy HAHA thats very true. This can be very frustrating...especially when you have an idea you cant yet generate lol
Yahia
@y-zaky
why must related elements have the same name?
r2d2
@UsamaHameed
@roxroy I am learning react on pluralsight
Yahia
@y-zaky
why is that important?
also why must All related checkbox inputs should have the same name attribute.
what is the importance
Roxroy
@roxroy
@UsamaHameed , Nice. I also used that site to prep for it as well.
Jorge
@flawedLogic506
btw guys, if you are having some trouble with the Twitch API, let me know .. think i got it working fine
any hockey fans? :snowflake:
@bowssy88 u need a way of referencing the label input
r2d2
@UsamaHameed
football :P
@roxroy the curriculum is very good
Jorge
@flawedLogic506
You would normally want to do something with that input and you need to grab it form the elements .. that + syntax
@UsamaHameed well yeah obvs football .. im from Costa Rica dude
Yahia
@y-zaky
@OrangeKulture thanks

Jorge
@flawedLogic506
@bowssy88 sure
Yahia
@y-zaky
@OrangeKulture but when will we be able to reference all the same labels
like do you have an example of when the fact that we names all the labels the same actually becomes useful?
Roxroy
@roxroy
@UsamaHameed , it use it as much as I can. The videos are high quality and professionally done. Always a great leaning experience and I feel much smarter at the end. I sure you think the same way too.
Jorge
@flawedLogic506
@bowssy88 think i do .. hold on
@bowssy88 this is part of a little fun JS quiz i did ..

1. In which HTML element do we put in Javascript code?

     a. <js>
b. <script>
c. <body>
d. <link>

2. Which HTML attribute is used to reference an external Javascript file?

     a. src
b. rel
c. type
d. href
so .. for the JS, you would do something like this:
//get user input
    var q1 = document.forms['quiz']['q1'].value
    var q2 = document.forms['quiz']['q2'].value
    var q3 = document.forms['quiz']['q3'].value
    var q4 = document.forms['quiz']['q4'].value
    var q5 = document.forms['quiz']['q5'].value
@bowssy88 so as you see... we need all q1s to be the same in order to compare to an array of correct answers
r2d2
@UsamaHameed
@roxroy yes
