Liam Docherty
@ldocherty1
@korzo Doesn't seem to work :(. All I want do is move down my divs within a certain section down. Would it be best if I linked a jsfiddle?
Elizabeth Paul
@Kowalatam
@moT01 seeing it.. should i hold on for now on filling in the html with js ?.
like the divs
korzo
@korzo
@ldocherty1 sure
Tom
@moT01
what do you mean by that
put the js in the js part
Elizabeth Paul
@Kowalatam
@moT01 yeah, hold on let me see if i can do what im trying to say in a few minutes :)
using append
Gulsvi
@gulsvi
@ldocherty1 If I remember right, you were using bootstrap 4? If so, add the class mt-5 to the div where you want the margin top. https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.0/utilities/spacing/
Elizabeth Paul
@Kowalatam
@moT01 it's not working :worried: .. well i will just do manually for now
@moT01 something like this https://codepen.io/Kowalatam/pen/oeqrxa
Gulsvi
@gulsvi
@Kowalatam Calculator goes 7 8 9 on first row, 4 5 6, then 1 2 3
And you need some CSS for those "buttons"
Elizabeth Paul
@Kowalatam
@SkyC0der Yeah, i'm just starting this project now .. :).
i will reverse the other now..
Liam Docherty
@ldocherty1

@SkyC0der https://codepen.io/liamdocherty1/pen/dzvqbB. I tried adding mt-4 to the class. Possibly done it wrong due to it not moving.

Just to confirm, within #part2 I'm trying to move down the classes section-heading and section-subheading by margin-top:4rem;

Gulsvi
@gulsvi
@ldocherty1 When I add mt-4 to that div, it moves down

Be sure to put it in a row too:

      <div class="row">
        <div class="col text-center">
          <h2 class="section-heading mt-4">Services</h2>
          <h3 class="section-subheading">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet consectetur.</h3>
        </div>
      </div>

Change that mt-4 to mt-5, mt-3, etc.. and watch it move around

You can also just use CSS:
#part2 .section-heading {
  margin-top: 4rem;
}

#part2 .section-subheading {
  margin-top: 3rem;
}
Liam Docherty
@ldocherty1

Minoy
@minoy

Hello! I am trying to change the colour of the <li> elements that make up my navbar by applying a CSS class to the <div> that contains the <li> elements. It is not working.
This is the CSS class:

.navbarTextColor {
    color: #f7b733;
}

and this is the <div>:

<div class="collapse navbar-collapse navbar-right navbarTextColor" id="bs-example-navbar-collapse-1">
                    <ul class="nav navbar-nav">
                        <li><a href="#">About</a></li>
                        <li><a href="#">Blog</a></li>
</ul>
</div>

Any ideas?

Elizabeth Paul
@Kowalatam
@minoy maybe try being more specific by using the class of the ul ?
teevik
@teevik
You could try inspecting with chrome and look at the css for the li, the color might not inherit from the div
Elizabeth Paul
@Kowalatam
or inspect ..... what @teevik said
lol
Gulsvi
@gulsvi

@minoy You appear to have a Bootstrap 3 navbar. Add this CSS to your project and change the colors as desired.

.navbar-default .navbar-nav > li > a {
  color: #777;
}
.navbar-default .navbar-nav > li > a:hover,
.navbar-default .navbar-nav > li > a:focus {
  color: #333;
  background-color: transparent;
}
.navbar-default .navbar-nav > .active > a,
.navbar-default .navbar-nav > .active > a:hover,
.navbar-default .navbar-nav > .active > a:focus {
  color: #555;
  background-color: #e7e7e7;
}

This will override the bootstrap default colors. It's from here: https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/twitter-bootstrap/3.3.7/css/bootstrap.css

Minoy
@minoy
@teevik @Kowalatam Thanks! fixed it by using the inspector.

Pagnito
@Pagnito
anyone know how to access this shit
Promise {[[PromiseStatus]]: "resolved", [[PromiseValue]]: Array(100)}proto: Promise[[PromiseStatus]]: "resolved"[[PromiseValue]]: Array(100)
Gulsvi
@gulsvi
@Pagnito You have to resolve()
Pagnito
@Pagnito
how?
Gulsvi
@gulsvi
It's a promise object - it can't be accessed directly
Pagnito
@Pagnito
so how do i resolve it?
Gulsvi
@gulsvi
I'd have to see the code - but usually a .then(function(data) {})
Pagnito
@Pagnito
k hold on
i did that tho
Gulsvi
@gulsvi
Or, through Promise.resolve()
