All that button is doing is opening twitter
No the button is not correct
If I click on it it must create a tweet with the quote inside it.
dinesh
@1532j0004kg
how can i do it give me a tips
tip
A-J Roos
@Asjas
@1532j0004kg You use http://twitter.com/home?status= as the base URL and then add the quote and a link to the quote to that URL
If someone then clicks on the button it will open up twitter with a new tweet containing the quote and the link to the quote
dinesh
@1532j0004kg
i willl try
A-J Roos
@Asjas
You can try https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text= as well. I see my first link redirects to this one

A-J Roos
@Asjas
@1532j0004kg Not okay. Nowhere are you setting the twitter url? Please set the url to https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text= and then add the quote and link
dinesh
@1532j0004kg
https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text= where this url need to be ? in the button or anywhere ?
A-J Roos
@Asjas
That is the href link for the a tag
That link + the quote + the link makes up the href
dinesh
@1532j0004kg

@chrisandsuch
Hey all, for projects do you often use the same stylesheet languages for all of them? For instance once you learn SASS SCSS do you just use that or still go back to CSS for simple projects?
BuntyBru
@BuntyBru

@alpox

could you explain about the "this.readyState==4 " you were talking about

Please , that would be so kind of you
刘刚
@dsfdsfdsf123
hello everyb,good night
it shows that quote and author is not defined
A-J Roos
@Asjas
@chrisandsuch I myself use scss for most things since I've picked it up. The syntax isn't that far off from normal css so I'll write a few variables and something that closely resembles normal css if I'm doing something fast and small
I then don't worry about my nesting.
alpox
@alpox
@BuntyBru you had this.readyState=4 as condition in the upper if clause. Notice, only one =! If you have only one =, this is an assignment and because the value of the assigment (4) is truthy, this expression always returned truthy even if this.readyStatewas not set to 4. You set it to 4 yourself at that point which should not be the intention. What you had to do was to only compare if this.readyState was indeed 4 at thst point. That is done with the equality operator == which consists of 2 =, not one. (Or even 3 for strict equality)

@BuntyBru
thanks @alpox

@Asjas
@1532j0004kg correct. You are assigning values that are in another function. You can't do that. You will either need to create global variables (which is not the best path) or set the value of the a element in the getQuote function.

@BuntyBru
Now diving into CSS for designing the application

@1532j0004kg
ohh okiee @Asjas
Christopher Susi
@chrisandsuch
@Asjas what do you use to compile the scss to css? Thanks for the help.

@ghost~580ed9c0d73408ce4f309ef0
I am not able to install pip
A-J Roos
@Asjas
@vipuldcoder Here isn't really a python support channel. You'll have to use stackoverflow for help
A-J Roos
@Asjas
@1532j0004kg You need to remove the button function for the tweet. Just set the value of the href in the quote function. You don't need a seperate button to set the value of the href
i think its working
alpox
@alpox
@vipuldcoder Just install python from the website - pip gets installed with it. Go sure to restart your terminal.
A-J Roos
@Asjas
@1532j0004kg Almost. The quote author is still undefined.
