var timerStarted = false;
  if(!timerStarted) {
  function elementScrolled(elem)
    var docViewTop = $(window).scrollTop();
    var docViewBottom = docViewTop + $(window).height();
    var elemTop = $(elem).offset().top;
    return ((elemTop <= docViewBottom) && (elemTop >= docViewTop));

  if(elementScrolled('.counter')) {
  timerStarted = true;
i think something like that would work
i didnt look at the code too much - so i dont know what it all does - but maybe something along those lines
@moT01 Oh my goodness, that worked!
Thank you so much @moT01 ! I'm trying to dissect what you did
restrepomich sends brownie points to @mot01 :sparkles: :thumbsup: :sparkles:

@Amasian Majority of my programming I do learn from a school, yes
The jquery part I am learning on my own. They don't like jquery or libraries, it seems
Stephen James
@onomesotu Sorry I had to get a new battery for my car, I hope you got it working
@sjames1958gm i hope so too for you :)
is it common for the projects to change while you''re in the middle of them? lol I was supposed to design a portfolio page and when i finally finish I go back and now its a tribute page
Hi does anyone know if freecodecamp offers Java IDE examples for operationals/conditions/arrays?
@chadcuomo What do you mean? :)
If it changes than more than likely you are using an IDE that has edit/teamwork enabled
If your using an online IDE. If it's a regular IDE, then no :)
@AbrisM When i finished the HTML/CSS portion there was a project to create a portfolio page. When I went back to submit the project it said the project was to create a Tribute page
Jacky Lui
@chadcuomo when did you start? I started last year and the Tribute page was the first project followed by portfolio.
hmm maybe i somehow skipped the tribute page lol i just started a few weeks ago
That's possible :)
I've been doing schoolwork instead of freecode examples, so i'm not sure :o:
Do you know if they offer Java projects here?
yeah, thats exactly what i did. when i move to the next page after tribute page it takes me to the portfolio project
Kaz Baig
@AbrisM We focus on JS here
Hmm so no JS
I mean, Java IDE's :)
Isaiah Trembley
we do js here
Yes, I have been doing functions and .this statements in JS :)
My most recent project was an e-commerce like site
if anyone would be willing to give me some feedback on my site i would appreciate it https://chadcuomo.github.io/
Chaduomo, :)
The <p> as your introduction needs to be moved down abit more, as it looks squashed
moved up*
Also the picture as well in the <div> element
I have tested the input values in your site
You don't have networking integrated yet I see, as there is a 450
Yes, you have minor issues with text/picture placement. Right now the content looks like it's sliding outside of the <div> container
@chadcuomo the nav might be a little too transparent
Putting it inside of the white-box would be recommended
clicking portfolio takes you too high on the page
meaning the title is too low - so you can see the above section
the other buttons work good enough
I see you have jquery library in your script :)
Recommended to use a CSS centering option than inside of the HTML
the hover effect on the buttons at the bottom dont have the whole icons in the effect
There is an unclosed <div> element on line 38, I believe
Also an "alt" recommended for your picture, just incase if it doesn't render
