DecisiveIndecisive
@DecisiveIndecisive
The only place I do a XMLHttpRequest is to get the image, I'm referring to the getWeather function
Unless I'm mistaken
I don't know what I changed, but It's working correctly now, genuinely dont think I changed anything, just messed around with the order and put it back...
EDIT: OOOOOOH, I was outputting the JSON before it could run, this makes sense
Darren
@DarrenfJ
@DecisiveIndecisive it's always nice when you solve it yerself
virtual high five :D

finally got my tic tac toe working
Merry Christmas Code Friends :)
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
Nice!
SakisBal
@SakisBal
random question: how much time does your average challenge take at intermediate scripting
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
really really long time
Jarrod
@Demonico
that is part of the point though
SoteroX
@SoteroX
@SakisBal dont try and compare your time to someone else, some people learn faster than others and some people learn slower than others. take all the time you need if thats what it takes for you to understand them
Jarrod
@Demonico
to add to what @SoteroX said, learning speed isn't the only factor either. I think I did them in 1/2 the estimated time but that is only because I was a math major in college and algorithm scripting is quite similar. Short version, some people have existing experience that makes it easier.
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
I get a lot of errors though and I'm new at coding so
Jarrod
@Demonico
you'll learn a ton just troubleshooting
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
Yeah lol
SakisBal
@SakisBal
well i was doing quick in the start and the tempo has been dropping hard on the ntermediate scripting challenged
Jarrod
@Demonico
it was the same for me

@CherryPlaysRoblox1
Is anyone here good with haml?
Nick Karnik
@theoutlander
what o you need @CherryPlaysRoblox1
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
How do you do if and else statements in haml
SakisBal
@SakisBal
@Demonico indeed, really a lot of troobleshooting
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
Because I did this
-if model_signed_in?
     %button= link_to "New Note", new_note_path
-else
     %button= link_to "Sign Up", new_model_registration_path

But it says: Inconsistent indentation: "\t " used for indentation, but the rest of the document was indented using 1 tab.

I want to make it so that if the user is signed in, the button is new note, but if they aren't, then it says sign up.

SakisBal
@SakisBal
erros appear from everywhere :p
Nick Karnik
@theoutlander
@CherryPlaysRoblox1 I think you might need a space - if
between - and if or - and else
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
Yeah.
I got another error
Nick Karnik
@theoutlander
I believe HAML is indentation based
is the doc not helpful?
why did you choose HAML?
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
#banner
    .banner_content
        %h1 NoteIt
        %p Your online notebook. Never forget an idea again.

- if model_signed_in?
  = link_to 'New Notes', new_note_path
- else
  = link_to 'Sign Up', new_model_registration_path
I'm following a yt video and it chose haml
Haml is indentation based
Nick Karnik
@theoutlander
is this using ror ?
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
Yep
Nick Karnik
@theoutlander
or js ?
hmm …
Henry
@GitHub-Henry
@CherryPlaysRoblox1 you may find this interesting, or not https://stackshare.io/stackups/haml-vs-pug
CherryPlaysRoblox
@CherryPlaysRoblox1
Okay
