You added padding-top to #about?
Of course, you don't see it when you click on the About link, but when you scroll a bit up you see it. :D
AJ Brommy
@AJ-Brommy
ahh same issue as before with padding and margin
or box sizing
yes I think you need the box sizing thing again
Morchid Chellali
@Morched23MJ
I think I made you misunderstand me, lol.
My navbar hides my content when I click on a link, thus adding a padding-top: 50px to every link after the first link, fixes this issue. But, I don't want this solution, it adds extra space that I don't want. :D
AJ Brommy
@AJ-Brommy
I think I understand the problem, just haven't quite understood the solution
Morchid Chellali
@Morched23MJ
Ehm. Adding the padding-top makes the navbar to scroll directly to the content, it hides the padding-top, but we don't need to see the padding-top. That's why it fixes our problem
The fixed navbar is programmed to scroll to the div, but it doesn't push it under, instead it covers the content with its height
AJ Brommy
@AJ-Brommy
I'm stumped. The problem with a fixed header is that it takes it out of the flow of the document so other elements don't know where it is.
thats why it goes under
Morchid Chellali
@Morched23MJ
Yup.
AJ Brommy
@AJ-Brommy
closest I can achieve is...

about-content {

background: white;
padding: 60px;
padding-top:100px;
display: flex;
flex-direction: column;
align-items: center;
justify-content: space-between;
width: 50%;
}

about-content {

background: white;
padding: 60px;
padding-top:100px;
display: flex;
flex-direction: column;
align-items: center;
justify-content: space-between;
width: 50%;
}
I don't understand why I can't get compose mode to work either lol

#about-content {
background: white;
padding: 60px;
padding-top:100px;
display: flex;
flex-direction: column;
align-items: center;
justify-content: space-between;
width:50%;
}
Even https://css-tricks.com/almanac/properties/p/position/ used a big top margin/padding to achieve it
Morchid Chellali
@Morched23MJ
:l
I guess I'm gonna have to scroll 50px up everytime an anchor in the navbar is clicked, using JS, which I didn't want in the first place. But I got no choice :P
Morchid Chellali
@Morched23MJ
Thank you, @AJ-Brommy. I'll check it out

I'm stumped again lol -- seems that works for a lot of people. But I can't get it working :(

@Ohshi60 yes i tried,

<h4><s>Google</s>Alphabet</h4>
      <hr>
      <p><em>Google was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were <u>Ph.D. students</u> at <strong>Stanford University</strong>.</em></p>

but it says "The hr tag should come between the title and the paragraph."

AJ Brommy
@AJ-Brommy
<hr /> @roxxlen ?

Ah yes I remember this now, there is a bug in this one. If you click the "get a hint" button it will take you to another page, scroll down to the part "bug in the lesson" and you will find another link, click on that for the explanation and solution. Essentially, you've done nothing wrong. It's the program fault. You need to switch..

<p><em></em></p>

to..

<em><p></p></em>

Im doing the redux exercises and cant seem to pass this problem: https://learn.freecodecamp.org/front-end-libraries/redux/handle-an-action-in-the-store

here is my code snippet that is failing:

const reducer = (state = defaultState, action) => {
  // change code below this line
  if (action.type === 'LOGIN') {
    return {
     state.login = true;
    }
  }
  return state;
  // change code above this line
};

@willybeans Wrong syntax, objects have key: value pair.
Ghost
@ghost~59209a78d73408ce4f6102e8
ah

what is the proper syntax?
This fails:

    return {
     state.login:  true;
    }

this fails:

return state {
 login: true
}
Aditya
@ezioda004
Just return
{
  login: true
}

I cant seem to change the id when I do a key press. How can I change the I.D it is referencing on key press.
The only way I can get “same” to print to the console is by first clicking any of the 3 buttons first and then pressing that same key on the keyboard. However if I try to print “same” without clicking on that button first it does not work

lol
Mandeep Sharma
@mandeephub
@willybeans try using <tr> <td>
Christopher McCormack
@cmccormack
@willybeans try adding margins, if that doesn't work you may need to nest the text in something with shape, as label is like a span I believe with no shape unless you change its display type
Mandeep Sharma
@mandeephub
@cmccormack pls any 1 cahn check this code https://codepen.io/mandeep9362/full/QBMzod/
