@Braybray54321
@NITEHAWK07 erm what do u mean?
Joshua
@jfc246
@NITEHAWK07 @Braybray54321 do you guys know each other?
RhinoTek
@RhinoTek
@alexanderkopke like this
arr.push(item);
arr.shift(item);// Change this line
Braybray54321
@Braybray54321
@jfc246 idk
NITEHAWK07
@NITEHAWK07
I think I may know him... I have a friend at school that everyoe calls Bray Bray
Alexander Køpke
@alexanderkopke
@RhinoTek shift doesn't take an arguments. so arr.shift() is sufficient. However, you'll have to store what it removes. Like in a variable which you can then return
Braybray54321
@Braybray54321
@NITEHAWK07 Well if everyone calls that Brayden that then that's not me
NITEHAWK07
@NITEHAWK07
Do u live in the state of PA?
Alexander Køpke
@alexanderkopke
@RhinoTek var removed = arr.shift(); like this
Braybray54321
@Braybray54321
@NITEHAWK07 no
NITEHAWK07
@NITEHAWK07
ok, then not you
Braybray54321
@Braybray54321
@alexanderkopke do i put the arrows "<---" like u showed me in my string
Sam Griffen
@ssgriffen
Anyone know why my search history items when clicked are loading in the wiki articles? http://codepen.io/ssgriffen/pen/KNraGP
Braybray54321
@Braybray54321
var myStr ; // Change this line <--- this is the code it gives me
I am a "double quoted" string inside "double quotes". <---is what i need my code to of said if u were to print into console
Alexander Køpke
@alexanderkopke
@Braybray54321 no those are just for pointing.
Braybray54321
@Braybray54321
@alexanderkopke ok
Joshua
@jfc246
@alexanderkopke after several tries i can not get it to work here is my updated code
function nextInLine(arr, item) {
  // Your code here
arr.push([[], 1] );

  return item ; // Change this line
}

// Test Setup
var testArr = [1,2,3,4,5];

// Display Code
console.log("Before: " + JSON.stringify(testArr));
console.log(nextInLine(testArr, 6)); // Modify this line to test
console.log("After: " + JSON.stringify(testArr));
RhinoTek
@RhinoTek
@alexanderkopke Thank you so much! That solved it!

@alexanderkopke
awesome!
Braybray54321
@Braybray54321
@alexanderkopke how would i add the quotatiosn to a string of non-qutoated text
Joshua
@jfc246
@Braybray54321 do you know the answer to my question?
Alexander Køpke
@alexanderkopke
@Braybray54321 you use the escape \". So for example: "this is \"some\" string"
Diego Mayer
@Chrono79
@jfc246 why are you pushing that?
Braybray54321
@Braybray54321
@alexanderkopke ok ill see if that works
@alexanderkopke thx

Zaluth
@Zaluth
i'm still stuck in seek and destroy challenge, any hints?
function destroyer(arr) {
  var args = [].slice.call(arguments);
  var slice = args.slice(1);
  var join = slice.join(", ");

  // slice = [2,3]
  // arr = [1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3]
  // args = [[1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3], 2, 3]

  function filter(value) {
    return value === join;
  }

  var seek = arr.filter(filter);
  return seek;

}

destroyer([1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3], 2, 3, 4);
Diego Mayer
@Chrono79
@Zaluth join is a string, it'll never be equal to a number
David Park
@dhp1161
has anyone done [138] convert C to F?
fahrenheit = fahrenheit *(9/5) +32;
this is not working...
Diego Mayer
@Chrono79
@dhp1161 because that's wrong, read the algorithm again
David Park
@dhp1161
clearly...
Alexander Køpke
@alexanderkopke
@dhp1161 seems you should use the celcius variable
David Park
@dhp1161
lmao
Diego Mayer
@Chrono79
@dhp1161 it's celsius btw
David Park
@dhp1161
yeah wtf am i doing
Zaluth
@Zaluth
@Chrono79 what should i do then?
David Park
@dhp1161
got it... I am retarded
Diego Mayer
@Chrono79
use indexOf with an array, don't use strings
Zane Hewgley
@zhewgley
@dhp1161 trial and error. Gotta learn from mistakes.
which i seem to be doing a lot haha
manugp
@manugp
Need a little help with Javascript. I wanting to try nesting functions for making the code to TitleCase a sentence. But I am getting the error "TypeError: value.shift is not a function".
The code is;

function titleCase(str) {
str = str.split(' ').map(function(value){
return value.split('').unshift(value.shift().toUpperCase).join();
}).join();
return str;
}

titleCase("I'm a little tea pot");

Diego Mayer
@Chrono79
@manugp because value isn't an array probably, yes, value is a string
