@GuapoTaco How's it going?
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:09
I got it working, kinda
it takes in a .raw audio file, and I am trying to create one
the program should theoretically work tho
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:10
Ok.
Java, or C?
I forgot :P
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:10
C
well the library is in C
but I guess I am writing c++ because I used nullptr twice :D
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:10
:D
Iris Johnson
@modwizcode
Feb 13 2016 00:12
lol
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:20
Hmm so I must've done something wrong
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:20
What happened?
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:20
I made a file in their format they want, that said "hey so this is russell and stuff"
and I got back "thank the crowd remembered ripped and wrap it up and bad get are than it if they
"
so my format isn't right clearly
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:21
lol
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:21
idk
I literally copied all of the code so the code is right
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:21
And @modwizcode thought Voce was better...
:P
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:22
Well I haven't figured this out yet
and there might be more c++/c voice libraries anyway
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:22
I'm just kidding..
lol
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:23
oh sorry you had the :p and everything :p
Voce might be better
Oh lol
It wanted mono, i gave it stero
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:29
lol
Does it work better now?
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:30
Idk my computer decided to take a nap
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:30
?
did it kill itself?
Mine does that a lot...
like too often
I need to get it checked out, but the "geniuses" at the apple genius bar are dumber than me :|
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:31
Yup. I should probably talk to some warrenty people...
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:32
lol
My friend has the same problem
We will be doing stuff, and then it'll just turn off
100% randomly
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:33
Me too
What part do you think is faulty? I've already tried the psu
Mobo?
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:34
My bet is a faulty temperature sensor
Which randomly causes a reboot
Because it says the CPU temp is too high
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:35
So I should talk to the CPU folks?
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:35
idk
lol
It might be a mobo issue if it is temp sensor
Or a cooler issue
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:35
I have a custom build so I can't just get a whole new computer
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:36
Yea, I feel ya
My custom shitted itself the other day
I think I broke the liquid cooler :(
But I don't really know how to debug the issue any further @GuapoTaco without further information...
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:38
so i'm back up
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:39
Cool
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:39
and now "test one two three four" gives " fat head can if the month had packed with that up"
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:39
LOL
So much better
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:40
IDK how to actually use audacity, so I am probably exporting it as stereo even the the track is mono
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:47
nor do I...
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:49
So I had sample rate wrong
but now "test one two three four" gives "the fifth"
the only goddam number I didn't say
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:50
meh
Doesn't seem very accurate
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 00:50
No it has to be an error on my part
that is just too bad
Okay so i'm 100% certain I have the format correct this time
And it still doesn't work
I'll try a different library
I'll try voce from C++, see how the API is
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 00:55
Ok
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 01:01
So voce uses the library I was using before
But it has a modern C++ interface
and maybe it can work ;)
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 01:02
lol
gl
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 01:20
So voce C++ literally just forwards it to java, soo....
Java is the way to go, this is a pain in the ass
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 01:25
lol
ok
decided
:D
Thank you for spending so much time on it!
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 01:26
Sure np
I was distracted most of the time with the hangout chat, don't worry about it
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 01:37
:D
Iris Johnson
@modwizcode
Feb 13 2016 01:53
I knew that library sucked.
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 01:54
lol
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 01:54
@modwizcode voce uses it, so I was doing something
They are the same backend
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 02:06
cool
That makes it nice
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 02:06
mhmm
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 02:09
Java is easier to program
Iris Johnson
@modwizcode
Feb 13 2016 04:48
You might just need to use a bigger sphinx set
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 13:53
That might also be the case, but doesn't the library choose what you can use?
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 14:34
Or can you specify the sphinx set you use?
Iris Johnson
@modwizcode
Feb 13 2016 14:38
Yeah but it's just the detail. I'll try to play with it and see if it can be tuned.
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 14:38
Ok
Do we have a document where we can outline the libraries?
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 19:09
I just created a PR with some pretty major updates to DevAssist
Thoughts?
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 19:28
Should we use github or phab for pull requests?
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 19:42
Github please
@GuapoTaco Do you have a PR?
Russell Greene
@russelltg
Feb 13 2016 19:43
No, just curious which you prefer
Vale
@DarkmatterVale
Feb 13 2016 19:50
Ok
