What @modwizcode
Iris Johnson
@modwizcode
What about sharing the AI training data over P2P?
Russell Greene
@russelltg
idk @DarkmatterVale how will that work?
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
idk
We would have to run some kind of server
But we might want to do that anyway
It depends; if we do that, then we will have to create some way to weight responses
@modwizcode
But we might have to weight responses anyway...
Iris Johnson
@modwizcode
Yeah.
Might be best eat to
*way to learn
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
I'm doing a pretty big overhaul of the code right now
I will look into that once I'm done with the rewrite
I fixing a bunch of errors and beginning work on the input processor
*I am fixing
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
Ok so the java speech api won't work for me. I'm getting a null pointer with desc = Central.createRecognizer(new EngineModeDesc()) desc.allocate()
new EngineModeDesc(LOCALE.English)*
Russell Greene
@russelltg
where is the exception? on allocate()?
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
yep
Russell Greene
@russelltg
so the problem is in createRecognizer
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
yep
Thee docs say it gives null if there's no local available
Russell Greene
@russelltg
local or locale?
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
locale
Russell Greene
@russelltg
okay
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
Hi
Russell Greene
@russelltg
hello senor
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
hahaha
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
hi
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
@vincentes Can you push your code to Github?
Russell Greene
@russelltg
yee
that way we can debug
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
And I can see the program
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
sure
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
Thank you
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
well.. I'm just testing the api
haven't done any real progress
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
Oh, ok
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
yeah sorry
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
I thought you had the base source code and are testing the speech API within that :D
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
I have some stuff planned out, I need to get the api working though
Victor Tolpegin
@DarkmatterVale
Cool, ok
Ah, so you are using CMUSphinx?
Vicente Bermúdez
@vincentes
so here's the full test
    public static void main(String args[]) {
        try {
            // Create a synthesizer for English
            Synthesizer synth = Central.createSynthesizer(
                    new SynthesizerModeDesc(Locale.ENGLISH));

            // Get it ready to speak
            synth.allocate();
            synth.resume();

            // Speak the "Hello world" string
            synth.speakPlainText("Hello, world!", null);

            // Wait till speaking is done
            synth.waitEngineState(Synthesizer.QUEUE_EMPTY);

            // Clean up
            synth.deallocate();
        } catch (Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
        }
    }
It's a different test, but it's not working either
