    Taking a break from writing materials, I started looking into the "mainstream" articles that have been picked up so far. Found some real nice connections.

    I have been looking into the academic circles recently. In particular, the article cited by Dan Golding.
    Going off of the citations and acknowledgements, it seems to be pretty clearly rooted in The Annenberg School for Communication at University of Pennsylvania.
    All of the acknowledgements are professors there and no where else.
    There are a lot of repeated cites in the papers of the people she acknowledges (I think).
    Of the influences at Annenberg there are four.
    Only one of those four has published extensively on gender studies x gaming culture.

    On her site she lists all of the people involved in the project:
    kenski, k., folkestad, j., gordis, e., feldman, l., zhang, h., kaufman, n., rabkin, a., shaikh, s., stromer-galley, j., shaw, a., clegg, b. and strzalkowski, t.

    I do not see these people repeatedly on the DiGRA transcript with the exception of Shaw.
    ...Also, I just noticed Zoya attended DiGRA.
    Zoya was on the Gamer Words Incorporated mailing list (the public one, not the Milo one).
    Also Dierdra is on that list. I think she's one of the Patreon links?

    damn, was just about to rebase some of mess's commits when you made those files, hah

    @Eurocrat
    One of the very active Patreon links.
    Ah, sorry. It's only one file
    I think?
    !!xLJ7xaYDkY
    @f57fea14
    okay, rebasing in a sec

    @f57fea14
    no idea why .txt files in GitHub delete paragraphs when you copy them, but code boxes in markdown files don't
    I'll be changing all the text files to markdown files in Notices_and_pastas now
    Euro
    @Eurocrat
    I don't know either...
    !!xLJ7xaYDkY
    @f57fea14
    by the way, if we ever have to save a large file that won't be changed much/at all, it would be preferable to upload it onto a different website and link to it in the Github instead
    Euro
    @Eurocrat
    O.k.. So far it's just been text files. Aside from that one pdf I asked about before...
    You think maybe the text files should be changed to pastebin links?
    In a similar style to the Patreon archive.
    ?
    !!xLJ7xaYDkY
    @f57fea14
    no, actually I think it's just the image files that are still bloating the files and making git clones slow
    they're still in the repository, just in its history
    going to have to do some rebase magic to get rid of it
    oh, actually yes, I guess everything in the archive can be reduced to a pastebin link since we won't be changing them at all
    Euro
    @Eurocrat
    That shouldn't be too hard with some simple cat piping magic.
    But I'm currently enthralled by the news that just came out about 8chan uncovering some sort of hoax because of a poor apache server set up.
