could I run an API from zeronet rather than hosting it on an AWS server?

@HelloZeroNet The site will be simple, just hosting the pdf files (just like images in play) and then below it comment or input boxes
HTML or javascript part will be around 10-20 mb. But the data for comment and pdf files will be large..

also will it check the file integrity of these PDF files, if one peer change the pdf file
Another question is, if a peer (not owner of the site) uploaded a file, how does it gets tracked, index file update?

index file should be always online, so that when there is an upload, or edit its gets updated..

Owner site should be always online, so that it fetches, what update is done, also index file should be changed accordingly. The goal of zeronet should be decrease the cost by distributing files. If keeping the owner site always online solves this problem, its ok. Also owner can create its own search index . If owner doesn't want to host the site, others can download the complete site, edit and host. All sites, its algorithm should be completely open source and also the data in it.
As the web address remain with the owner, it won't create any problem

May be we use read operation from all different peers, but write, update, delete operation can be done by peers through only owner site..

Most often we do read operation, while others are rare. This will decrease the cost of hosting, also data is never lost.

If the site has only read operation, the always online thing is also not necessary...
