I'm Binh
but you will need a web server to run it
then it will become centralize
Currently how it works is like this: html and css run locally on your PC, and get data from synced json,db files stayed locally on your PC also
Jason M.
I know how to host a web server for a .com what Im trying to figure out is if you can point a .com to a zeronet host the way they do .bit

@GreaterInandOut_twitter I think We can, like hosting a normal website, just like how to host an ethereum node, then access that node api from mobile app, but we will need to write some api for accessing outsite the local machine

I’m also learning about this concept as well. just read over some of the white papers and it seems pretty damn awesome. I could see the blockchain portion of it being highly useful in dev pipelines and things of that nature.

the key thing for these "blockchain" is how to scale, as a normal user laptop cannot store a lot of information, can give an example, with my Mac, I can store only upto 200gb of data, so incase the ZeroMe is over that storage, I cannot load new information anymore

Hi !
I would like to add support for signing a zite with a HSM (specifically, with a Ledger Nano S)
This requires to add some dependancies to talk with the device, and I'm wondering what would be the best approach
The easiest way would be to add the python package in the requirement.txt file, but there's only 2 packages there so it doesn't look like the way to go
here is the package required: https://github.com/LedgerHQ/blue-loader-python
Any idea, someone ?

Is Zeronet ready? Or is it going to have to compete with Beaker and Dat?

I have a problem with writing binary file with fileWrite. Mostly it's not able to save non ascii chars. Is it not supported?
{"error":"Write error: UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode characters in position 1-3: ordinal not in range(128) in UiWebsocket.py line 579 > base64.py line 75"}

Hello everyone. I'd like to use a different base58 address style for my local ZN network. Is it possible to change the base58 and WIF that ZN uses for the addresses?
Basically I want to use a different prefix
Instead of Z
@DonaldTsang Your question is vague. Would you explain what you mean?

Hello community, @imachug
I would like to contribute by adding support for python 3. I've already migrated a couple of big projects before, and that's how it went:

  • Support for Python 2 will sunset in 2020.
  • Python 3 is where the future is heading, so all the new features will be implemented in there.
  • Many powerful libraries start to ditch Python 2 support.

  • Py2 > Py2&3 Compatible > Py3

  • Feature-oriented PRs (Feature-by-Feature migration)

Steps (5):

  • Syntax Fixes: lists/iterators handling, exceptions, octal literals, etc.
  • Semantic Fixes: Unicode literals, division, hybrid comparisons, etc.
  • Env switch: add py3 & cut/keep py2 support
  • More Fixes: fix remained bugs (because it's painful, you guessed it...you are damn right!)
  • Cleanup (optional): get rid of compatible code such as Try/Except imports, TODOs, etc.

  • Contributors may still write py2 code which will cause me rebasing my branch on master forever. For that, we need to have a regex text search validation file at Jenkins' level that catches any code that's not a py2&3 compatible.

What do you think? I can start working on it right away...

sorry let me ask a stupid question.
how 2 use zeronets tor at china?

Hello @/all, I wanted to contribute to ZeroNet. I was wonering what are the things I need to read up on to get started, as in terms of technologies involved.

Is anyone in here good at Solidity?
Been trying to figure out whether this 5 ETH contract is breakable: https://etherscan.io/address/0x63d3d0215922b924c782c7b2a351ef8604e18da7
Hello, is anyone there?

Hey ZeroNet community! Would like to say i respect the work you all put into the project and have been really interested in learning more about the technical side of things.

I came across an interesting debate going lately on the overall general consensus issues and felt the Devs here would be some of the best to shed some light on.

Kyle Samani from Multicoin and Will Martino from Kadena are hosting an AMA - Town Hall style on the next wednesday (20th) over at Discord - inviting specifically blockchain devs and high level players in the space to drop questions on the issue of:

  • Proof of Work vs Proof of Stake. Pivoting around New Findings, Perspectives & Tradeoffs

High level thoughts from a community such as yours would be of utter value

Official page says TLS encryption was added, but it’s not clear enough for me, so let’s clarify
In plain words, yes or no: is is possible for middle man (e.g. ISP) to sniff exactly what messages and images are transferred between Zeronet peers?
(I’m aware there is Tor, etc) My question relates to Zeronet itself. Is is like HTTP or connections between peers are encrypted like HTTPS.

@blurHY is that yours?
yeah of course

i have not gotten into ipfs, but it seems interesting
what was the motivation for putting zeronet on top of ipfs?
