does anyone know of any way to specify custom compiler flags with the swift package manager, without resorting to makefiles and the like?

Does anyone know how to configure iOS voip pushnotification in an XMPP server
Mike Tunnicliffe
@tunniclm
@dschwartz783 I don't think you can yet, except for system libs via pkgconfig. There was some mention in a ticket somewhere that there might be a solution on the way in a future version of SPM. I would be interested if you find any information to the contrary, as there are some C++ modules we have at the moment which require -Xlinker -lc++ on macOS that I'd very much like to find a way to deal with.

I did test the moya framework on last days and I discover about it problems to work in swift on linux (in command line)). Can I have some request/json framework to use in swift 3 ?
David Schwartz
@dschwartz783
@tunniclm I dug through the SwiftPM code, and couldn't find anything. I find it somewhat odd that devs wouldn't think to include support for compiler flags. I suppose they dumbed it down a little too much. SPM is incredibly easy to use, just needs a little more oomph.

hello, every one!
what is this error? how to fix it? let secondsText = (Int)seconds % 60
error is as following. Consecutive statements on a line must be separated by ;
Ahmed Abdul Badie
@ahmedabadie
Casting in Swift is not achieved by prepending (Type). Use this: Int(seconds)

I have a main UICollectionView which contains a custom header and a custom cell. Inside the custom cell I have another UICollectionView with a custom cell in which there are three buttons (inside a stackView) that has added target as a selector function to it for .touchUpInside but when I touch the button it does not fire the selector function at all. didSelectItemAt function gets called on parent UICollectionView but not the nested one
any idea?
shebinkoshy
@shebinkoshy
Listen gesture delegate "shouldBeRequiredToFailBy" for parent UICollectionView.
Handle with touch location.
matin-kaj
@matin-kaj
Should I make it false on parent collectionView ?
shebinkoshy
@shebinkoshy
Check the location of the touch, if its inside button, make gesture failure. So button action il work. Else case allow gesture

On https://developer.ibm.com/swift/2017/02/14/new-runtime-docker-image-for-swift-applications/, I don't understand why they start with one Dockerfile, do a docker run, then create a whole new docker file again in the next step thats completely different from the first one.
Its like the first is a docker for building and the second is one for running, instead of a single one that can both build and serve?
and whats there differs from whats here -- https://github.com/IBM-Swift/kitura.io/blob/master/en/starter/deploying.md which says to use docker pull ibmcom/kitura-ubuntu:latest vs docker pull ibmcom/swift-ubuntu:latest

Add an import for the CORS library to the start of the file:

import KituraCORS

However, the KituraCORS library is not contained in the project. Is anyone else having this problem?
Shmuel Kallner
@shmuelk
@BryanRyczek You need to add Kitura-CORS to the Package.swift file. Also if you are running with Swift 4.0 you will probably have to add KituraCORS to the dependencies of your application.
Bryan Ryczek
@BryanRyczek
@shmuelk Thank you. I am in Swift 4. One question: Kitura-CORS shouldn't be an installed framework when I install Kitura via command line, correct? I want to make sure I am installing Kitura properly and that adding Kitura-CORS should be an extra step I need to take.
Bryan Ryczek
@BryanRyczek
Followup: I got this figured out and now feel silly for not following the continued instructions, which is all I needed to do. I was certainly thrown off by the fact that installation is done via a package manager and not Cocoapods or dragging and dropping frameworks into an Xcode project as I am accustomed to doing. So everyone in the same boat: just follow the instructions!

"a"||"b" is not a valid predicate in Swift, and hasPrefix() expects and argument that is a String.
