Another question,how to get my custom settings(use ServiceManage.getService(Project project, Class<T> serviceClass ) method) after the IDE starts
I think the point key is the IDE lifecycle method, but I have no ideas
Tesla Ice Zhang‮
@ice1000
Use it when action is invoked maybe
Leason
@LeasonX
not that, I just want to get after IDE starts, action is not invoked at that time maybe
Leason
@LeasonX
I find this method : ProjectComponent.projectOpened works maybe
Leason
@LeasonX
yeah, it works

I got a question and am not sure where to ask, so I'll try here: I am using the Pants-plugin for a Pants-build project. To set the Python version I am using pyenv and have set a .python-version in my project root. When running Pants from a shell it resolved the correct Python version. When I start IntelliJ from a shell in the scope of the project directory, the Pants plugin also resolves the correct Python version. When I start IntelliJ from some other location (or Desktop shortcut) it executes al commands from some other scope and hence does not resolve to the correct Python version.
So my question is: Is this a Pants-plugin problem or IntelliJ? Can I configure some path (e.g. project root) to set as scope for all commands to be executed?

Does anyone know of an example of adding a new file action? I'm trying to write a plugin for a visual editor for report templates and UI files and I want to have a menu to kick it off, "New Report Template File".
Jeff Martin
@reportmill
Thanks for the response! Yes, I found that one, but it isn't very specific about "New xxx file" actions. I've been looking at the CFML plugin example in the JetBrains GitHub, and it shows a reasonable example of CreateFileFromTemplateAction, but it still isn't a lot to go on.

@62mkv
you can look at the Intellij-community source code, for Java plugin for example
I found that one most suitable and quick to implement, as it provides almost finished solution
see CreateFileFromTemplateAction
and com.intellij.ide.actions.CreateFileFromTemplateDialog

I've been trying to understand how it works from the few examples I've found now, but I can't understand how it gets the content of the new file. Do I store a template file somewhere?

Going to also try here: My plugin seems to have been really broken by 2020 update - are there any resources from people who have already been down this path

Hi! Is it possible to publish my own TextMate bundle as an independent IntelliJ plugin? Is there any doc explaining how to do this?
I know that as a user I can go into the settings of the TextMate plugin for IntelliJ and manually add any bundle. But I would like this to be done as a separate plugin for IntelliJ and its TM plugin.

Hey all, I am wondering do I need to build my plugin for every version of intelliJ (in my case PHPStorm) that comes out? (https://github.com/kunicmarko20/idea-helpable-plugin/blob/master/gradle.properties) here you can see all the different values I have
was thinking if I can potentially just drop version from https://github.com/kunicmarko20/idea-helpable-plugin/blob/db669342cebf441b24d643c7f8a063f46493b1e2/build.gradle#L33, but so far what I saw is that every plugin does it like this

can anyone point me in the direction of some documentation or example code of how to use SearchableOptionContributor? I used to use SearchableOptionsRegistrar so that my settings were searchable but that no longer works due to deprecation.
