    People are able to access julialang.org and the widget. The problems is that in some area the download and accesibility to github and aws is limited, which leads to complain in our chat chanel...

    @Roger-luo thank you very much for that link! I've been able to successfully intall QQ now, my QQ # is: 2307805957

    Hello @/all , I'm updating the community page of the Julia web site:

    If you see something missing or have suggestons, please ping me and let me know, cheers!

    @Ismael-VC , I noticed julialang.org is not showing portuguese translation for all strings in the index page, even though they are translated. Do you know why is that happening?
    Ismael Venegas Castelló
    @Ismael-VC
    @felipenoris hello!
    Yes, while the strings are translated, some of them are not reviewed.
    Ismael Venegas Castelló
    @Ismael-VC
    It was agreed we should publish only reviewed translations to production in order to ensure translation quality, by trying to avoid broken translations in julialang.org. The correct way to do this is that if for example, you translate a string, somebody else should review the string in order for it to be finally approved.
    I'll raise the issue at the Portuguese chat room.
    Felipe Noronha
    @felipenoris
    @Ismael-VC Thanks! I thought something was broken, but that is not the case. Thanks!

    Hi! I have recently started contributing to the French translation and I was wondering if there is a chat or something where people discuss of guidelines? Like if we should translate the names of universities and specific technical words (« pull request » doesn't really have a beautiful and senseful equivalent in French, and people need to know what to look for on Github, which is only in English).

    @miguelraz
    We encountered the same problem in Spanish-English translation -- I'm no authority, but I think there is no hard and fast rule about where it is appropriate. Don't want to say "use your judgement"... but sometimes somethings are understood to be spoken in English due to their technical origins, and we should'nt bend over backward in order to have 100% pure translation.
    Also, welcome Joelle! Glad to have you join us.

    Great, I understand. I will at least try to be consistent!
    And thanks for the welcoming! I wanted to contribute somehow to Julia, but I’m not experienced enough in coding to work on technical development… I’m glad I’ve found a way to help!

    That's exactly where I've been at for the past few months. I've found that tapping into the Github email digest helps a lot, but I think some of the best advice is reading when people's "Basic Usage" topic questions' code gets developed over a long post by many different people.
    They pull some crazy numbers in improvement, great style, and slick tricks. I'd definitely look out for that.

    @Ismael-VC
    @JoelleFV wellcome! :D
    What's your Transifex nickname?
    JoelleFV
    @JoelleFV

    @miguelraz Yeah I’ve already started looking through the First Steps posts on Github and it’s definitely helping! However I have trouble finding the email digest you’re talking about… Would you mind sending me link to that?

    And @Ismael-VC thanks! My Transifex nickname is JoelleFV too, I’m a simple person ;)

    Ismael Venegas Castelló
    @Ismael-VC
    @JoelleFV great, I'm a simple person too ...most of the time ...sort of .... :P
    Here is the link, you should mark the watching option, there will be a lot of mail :warning:
    Miguel Raz Guzmán Macedo
    @miguelraz
    @JoelleFV When you go to https://github.com/JuliaLang/julia, you can click the top lil' eye tab at the top and select "Watching" . You will then receive the emails to your GitHub linked email account.
    Beware, it's a lot of people - those Julia peeps are busy, busy people.
    JoelleFV
    @JoelleFV
    Ahah I'll try it and see! Thank you very much to both of you!
    Miguel Raz Guzmán Macedo
    @miguelraz
    No worries! Here to help @JoelleFV. Feel free to ask any question - I'll try my best to answer.

    Does anyone have any complaints if we treat groups of people in English entirely? So NYC Julia User Group will remain so, and perhaps in parentheses add the translation and keep using the English terms for it?
    Miguel Raz Guzmán Macedo
    @miguelraz
    If enough people complain about the usage, then we might get some workaround.
    I feel as if the priority should be on pushing the majority of the docs out though - albeit probably not everything that will be overhauled in 1.0
    Ismael Venegas Castelló
    @Ismael-VC
    I gree with you @miguelraz I think we should not be pursits and try to do a 100% translation, some terms (at least in Spanish), feel weird if translated.
    Indeed doc translations are very important, I have some time this weekend to see if I can setup the docs translation toolchain.

    @ezekeli Welcome!
    This is the place for Julia and translation. @Ismael-VC can help you out.

    @ezekeli
    Hi!
    Miguel Raz Guzmán Macedo
    @miguelraz
    Hey!
    Some basic info has been posted for users here if you scroll up.
    You will have to setup a transifex account
    For basic translation
    Helping out with the toolchain involves porting some python tools to Julia, and Ismael will know all about that if you are keen

    @miguelraz
    Can you find the Julia project on Transifex?
    ezekeli
    @ezekeli
    Yes, I can
    It's strange system.
    I will master this.
    Miguel Raz Guzmán Macedo
    @miguelraz
    💪🏽
    Basically, until Ismael approves you, you can only contribute translations on Transifex. Then you can approve/review them. What percentage is Russian at for completion?
    Ismael Venegas Castelló
    @Ismael-VC
    @ezekeli I've added you to the translation team, now you are a reviewer and as such you can translate and review strings. In order for translated strings to show up at julialang.org, they have to also be reviewed in order to assure translation quality.
    JoelleFV
    @JoelleFV
    @Ismael-VC is it legit for me to review my own strings? I feel like the other members of the French team are busy elsewhere, because none of the strings I have translated since a month ago have been reviewed yet... If this is a normal reviewing rate though, I obviously don't mind keeping on translating more strings :smile:
    Ismael Venegas Castelló
    @Ismael-VC
    @JoelleFV hello!
    It's ok to do this with the home page, but please be extra careful.
    I'll try to make some noice, so we hopefully are able to atract more contributors, that are either interested in translating, reviewing or both.
    Not only for French, but also for the rest of the languages.
