Do you know what versions you're on as well? If you download the bundle you'll definitely have the latest
Any error messages or anything in the console?
David P. Sanders
@dpsanders
OK, the bundled version seems to be more stable
Yes, I meant Shift-Enter sorry
The bundled version worked well today (but yesterday didn't allow Shift-Enter!)

@edubkendo
So I noticed when I readcsv in Juno, I get a really nice matrix output, but when I do the same thing in juliabox the output is an array with only a couple of the columns.
Mike J Innes
@MikeInnes
@dpsanders Ok, great, at least the bundle is working. I'll try to make sure the non-bundle version works too
@edubkendo As in in IJulia?
I have a lot of custom display code for Juno, yeah
I don't work on IJulia myself, but you could always open an issue over there mentioning that you like Juno's display

hey a quick question. say I have a type "Foo" with a bunch of fields, is there a keyboard shortcut to list all the fields in it? Say i initialize the object "foo" of type Foo, and I want some hint of auto-complete on foo.x or foo.y, how would I do it?
evanthebouncy
@evanthebouncy
the issue here is sometimes I just type foo. and a list of possible completions shows up, along with some of the valid fields of Foo, but sometimes this list does not show up. I would like to know what is the cause for this list to show up so I can coax it into existence
David P. Sanders
@dpsanders
@evanthebouncy I believe you just need to make sure you actually evaluate both the type declaration and the declaration of the variable of that type with Shift-Enter for Juno to be able to do the completion.

Hi all. Everytime I need to reload the module I navigate to the Module file and do a shit-enter. Is there a keyword for this? I noticed the command "Refresh the module for the current editor". But it doesn't seem to do anything (or at least not what I expected).
David P. Sanders
@dpsanders
Hi. Is there a way to have two tabs open with the same file (to examine different parts of one file at the same time)?
Mike J Innes
@MikeInnes
@zenna That's the best way to do it I think. The command you found just tries to detect which module you want to eval the current file into
@dpsanders sure, try the "open another view" command
David P. Sanders
@dpsanders
Perfecto, thanks!
Zenna Tavares
@zenna
Thanks
Zenna Tavares
@zenna
You know what would be great (assuming it doesn't exist already), is the ability to do shift+enter and ignore all types so I don't get redefine errors. Most of the time I just change functions, and I don't want to do a full module refresh as that loses all the local variables i'm playing with. Just putting it out there!

@MikeInnes
Check out the @defonce macro in lazy.jl, that might be useful to you
Ben Arthur
@bjarthur
key repeat is not working for me in the editor. any ideas?
Sebastian Pfitzner
@pfitzseb
What do you mean? That you can't hold down a key to repeat the corresponding char?
David P. Sanders
@dpsanders
Hi. I would like to change from Base.Test to FactCheck. To do so, I need to replace @test by @fact and == by => in several test files. Is there a quick and easy way to do such a find/replace in multiple files in Juno? (Is there, in fact, a concept of "project"?) Thanks
russ0519
@russ0519
I'm getting an error trying to download the 1.0.1 release
the 1.0.0 link from the site seems to work
David P. Sanders
@dpsanders
A related question: is there a way to to a search and replace only within a highlighted region?
Mike J Innes
@MikeInnes
@dpsanders Ctrl-Shift-F will bring up global find and replace
LT also has the concept of workspaces but I've never used them much
I don't think region searches work
Mike J Innes
@MikeInnes
@russ0519 I think that should be fixed now
Mike J Innes
@MikeInnes
@jminardi Honestly, not all that much. It's kind of a shame we can't rely on their work for much longer (hopefully they'll at least be able to get 0.8 out) but really we always saw Juno/LT as more of a prototype than anything else. Things should start developing much more quickly in a few months!
Jack Minardi
@jminardi
You mean using LT as the base for Juno is a prototype or Juno itself is a prototype for something else?
Mike J Innes
@MikeInnes
Yeah, the first one :)

I am using Lion 64-bit (OS X 10.7.5). According to http://julialang.org/downloads/ this is enough.
However, any attempt to install Juno to my OS results in an error stating that I must be using a version of OS X >= 10.8.
I can't find any documentation on http://junolab.org/that confirms or denies this.
Can anyone lend a hand? I really want to use Julia without LightTable on my installation of Lion.
I'm hoping someone made a typo when creating the .dmg such that Mac believes the required OS version is higher than it needs to be.
Ajinkya Kale
@ajkl
is there a RStudio Server like setup for Juno/Julia-LT which enables you to get a browser based IDE running on some server?
Mike J Innes
@MikeInnes
FYI for people looking for help, it's best to just post on the Juno discussion board – since it's the same people answering on each platform cross-posting won't speed things along, unfortunately
That said, do feel free to bump things if you go without a response for a week or so – I'm super busy at the moment so I'll respond where I can but things might slip through the net

@robbel
hi, i just installed julia-lt on ubuntu 14.04 with a highdpi display.. font is impossibly small, is there a way to adjust that? thanks!
actually, i installed Juno if that makes any difference
P
@robbel
ok, i found the setting.

the linux64 binaries were packaged so that
unzip juno-linux-x64.zip

Yields a directory names linux64 in the working dir. This is a little awkward, as normally tar.gz and .zip archives extract to a directory with the same name as the archive in the working directory.

It matters if you extract it in a busy directory which i did. I had to locate the directory I extracted.
