    @blegat @odow @joaquimg Vincent is going to organize two SDDP sessions at ISMP, the first session being more theoretical than the first one. He has invited Regan Baucke and one of the co-authors of Shabbir Ahmed to talk about SDDiP. He plans also to invite Nils Lohndorf, and would like to have a more practical talks about an implementation of SDDP in Julia. Would you like to present one of your package at this occasion? For instance, if we improve the formalism, Vincent thinks it could be a good idea to present a graph version of SDDP. What do you think?
    Oscar Dowson
    @odow
    I was planning to submit a talk on numerical issues relating to sddp
    I have a few diabolical examples
    Joaquim Dias Garcia
    @joaquimg
    The only problem with my sddp implementation is that it is psr’s implementation and not open source (at least currently). But I think one or a some real world (large size) applications with the julia version could make a nice presentation, perhaps comparing with the fortran state of the art. What do you think @frapac ? We can certainly focus on implementation and pratical issues if it fits best.
    Oscar Dowson
    @odow
    Slash. Mine is about issues with benders decomposition in general. Agree that it could be good for someone to present the sddp packages. I can give people some of my slides about the performance of sddp.jl if you want to include those
    I'll also talk to my advisor about one of our papers because he has a v cool reformulation that lets you have statewide dependent price states. So you can have spot prices and contracting etc
    Joaquim Dias Garcia
    @joaquimg
    A review on sddp implementations might be nice, although ISMP officially limits presentations to 3 authors
    I am interested in that one ;) you’ve been hiding it :p
    Oscar Dowson
    @odow
    I don't have to be an author
    Tony has been too slack to finish the proof. The implementation and results section of the paper is finished. I will hurry him up next week
    Joaquim Dias Garcia
    @joaquimg
    I was just sayin how unfortunate that was because it would be a nice review paper/presentation about the history of sddp implementation, i have a few tales
    Oscar Dowson
    @odow
    @blegat you have an MIT email?
    I like the idea of the history paper
    François Pacaud
    @frapac
    I like also the idea of a history paper. Maybe we could split such a presentation in three parts: past (quick presentation of former implementations of SDDP in c++ or fortran, like those of PSR), present (current implementations of SDDP in julia, with a comparison with former code base like those done by @odow and @joaquimg ) and future (the idea behind graph SDDP, as framed by @blegat )
    Benoît Legat
    @blegat
    An history paper is a good idea. @odow Yes blegat@mit.edu
    The website says "Further authors can be indicated but they shall only be included in the book of abstracts". The restriction of 3 authors is on the synthetic program only

    I have created a new Poll : https://framadate.org/skrsAyzL7qKID9g7 let's hope we find a match this time :)
    François Pacaud
    @frapac
    I talked to Vincent this morning. He agrees with the benefit of a history talks during the sessions on SDDP and numerics
    @joaquimg Vincent would like to contact Mario Pereira to discuss with him whether PSR is interested with a SDDP session during ISMP. Do you think he could send him an email about it?
    @blegat He thinks also that your approaches of SDDP, where problems are coded on graphs, is interesting enough to justify a dedicated talk. But you may have already another talk during ISMP ...
    Joaquim Dias Garcia
    @joaquimg
    @frapac yes go on, his email is mario@psr-inc.com
    François Pacaud
    @frapac
    thanks!
    Benoît Legat
    @blegat
    @frapac Glad to hear that ! I have an idea for a nice presentation of the graph approach for SDDP so if ISMP has an SDDP session, I would be tempted to talk about it there :)
    François Pacaud
    @frapac
    @blegat great!
    Benoît Legat
    @blegat
    @odow Kind reminder for the poll :)

    François Pacaud
    @frapac
    would you like to meet on Hangout or on Skype tonight?
    Oscar Dowson
    @odow
    There is a hangouts link in the calendar event
    Just click join meeting
    François Pacaud
    @frapac
    i am going to be 5mn late
    François Pacaud
    @frapac
    i'm failing to join the meeting :p
    Benoît Legat
    @blegat
    Why ?
    François Pacaud
    @frapac
    I am not on my usual computer and I am failing to connect with my gmail account
    could you invite me on francoispacaud8@gmail.com ?
    Benoît Legat

    @joaquimg
    Sorry I missed, I had an emergency. Was the meeting good?
    Benoît Legat
    @blegat
    Yes, we discussed a few things

    @odow There is a discussion about bird naming : JuliaOpt/Pajarito.jl#412 I thought you would be interested :D
    Oscar Dowson
    @odow
    :+1: I still haven't convinced enough people to support a change to Kokako.jl
