Anyone looking to help an open source project ? For the last few years, I have been empowering people to map litter. https://github.com/OpenLitterMap/openlittermap-web is now open source

TomDesMoines Hello, I’m new here. A couple of quick questions.
I’m amazed with ipyleaflet. I’m wondering how easy it would be to take what I develop and move it to a www application rather than an app for Jupyter. Does anyone here have insight into this question?
The second question is about ArcGIS Servers. I was able to pull in ImageServer data into ipyleaflet but not MapServer data. Please let ne know if you have any insights into this as well.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi guys, I recently open sourced my app with 12+ years research behind it.

https://github.com/OpenLitterMap is built with Laravel, Vue, Bulma, and react-native

Inspired by OpenStreetMap, we apply the same principles of crowdsourcing and open data to litter and plastic pollution

See openlittermap.com

For more info, here is a presentation I gave at the UN last week https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhLsA0WIfTA

We would love if anyone here could take an interest in our laravel project <3

OK, one more release of GoogleMutant is away. It's weirdly fun.

Hi, I would like to use django-leaflet to create a form in my website instead of django admin, but I didn't find any completed example for that, is there someone could share about some example for this part? many thanks

Hi, Just wondering has anyone made a login for leaflet so when you login, more layers are visible?

I guess the answer is "yes", but you're being too vague in the question
Ian "The_Cre8r" Harshbarger
@TheCre8r
Back to my proper account. I have some layers that are private and i would have them restricted to a login and was wondering if theres a good way to hide the specific layers until after a successful login.

There are several good ways, depending on your requirements and infraestructure
i.e. programming language, tile servers, level of security paranoia

Hi, when the map renders then the markers are in the sea, when i zoom in or out it goes to the right place, any ideas what it might be causing that?

Hey, i cant move the handles after creating the polygon, can anybody help? it seems like the events are not registering when the marker icons of the polygons are created
it is like they are being ignored
i use leaflet 1.7.1 and leaflet draw 1.0.4

@IvanSanchez:matrix.org Requirements: LDAP would be preferred, running on a Windows Server. I can do any language - I am willing to learn. I just was not sure if someone has done anything like it, yet. The data is hosted on-prem would be loaded using the ESRI Leaflet plug-in.

LDAP through win32 stuff is gonna be tricky. I don't know of web browsers that can read that kind of auth and then forward it to webservers.
Ian "The_Cre8r" Harshbarger
@TheCre8r
a basic login is working as intended over php at the moment
but the login is not attached to anything other than to pull details

Does anyone know how one can edit a polygon without using leaflet draw? I'm using react

Hi Team , i m new here, I have just started using leaflet apps in one of my angular project.. Just want to know when I use OpenSourceMaps and use arbitration as in the leaflet docs, so to use it for Production apps or any license or anything else to be done... Thanks in Advance
IvanSanchez
@IvanSanchez:matrix.org
[m]
You mean OpenStreetMap, you mean "attribution", and you want to read https://operations.osmfoundation.org/policies/tiles/
Ayz Pat
@AyzPat
Thaanks @IvanSanchez:matrix.org ,yes my typo .. (attribution)... In the link provided it reads - the tile servers are not free... , also - distributing an app that uses tiles from openstreetmap.org is not recommended , my usecase is I want to use the app for embedding markers (i have say lke around 500 markers data) that I will display using lat & long... So any better opensource for this usecase??
IvanSanchez
@IvanSanchez:matrix.org

Please exhaust the resources linked from that webpage instead of asking.
Also, mind your wording. I suspect you don't mean "any better opensource" but "any other gratis [tile services]".

another curiosity request
Does anyone know of a good way to do l.imageOverlayor equivalent with a centroid and a scale?

Hi all, I have a question regarding the rendering of a Polyline. The line is disconnected between the 1st and 2nd points of the latlng array but the rest of the line renders properly. If i delete the 0-th index of the latlng array the behaviour continues - The line section between the new 0th index and 1st index points disappears. Is there anyway to fix this issue? Note I am also using React Leaflet so if this is not the right place to ask, maybe someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance for your help!

My usual approach for these kind of problems is "show me a reproducible example", i.e. start at https://leafletjs.com/edit and create a minimal webpage that shows the problem.
If you can replicate the problem, then good, file a bug
If you can't replicate the problem with vanilla Leaflet (i.e. without react-leaflet)... you'll get the usual "sorry, can't help you then"

I am using leaflet in VueJs. How do I get a reference to the exiting layer control so I can add additional layers...
Sorry if thats a noob question, but I cannot figure out how to find the actual control so I can reference it in other locations in code.
IvanSanchez
@IvanSanchez:matrix.org
[m]
Leaflet does not have a default layers control, so there's no way to get it.
See where you're spawning it, keep the reference from there.
Steve-Groner
@Steve-Groner
Looks like the vue-leaflet is creating it.

Is there a way to add a layer to a group after its built?

like I have

var baseLayers = {
    "Mapbox": mapbox,
    "OpenStreetMap": osm
};

var overlays = {
    "Marker": marker,
    "Roads": roadsLayer
};

L.control.layers(baseLayers, overlays).addTo(map);

and I want to add

"Google": google

to

baselayers
(after its been built)
It's right there in the docs
Ian "The_Cre8r" Harshbarger
@TheCre8r
dammit it was right in front of my face. Thank you!
Ian "The_Cre8r" Harshbarger
@TheCre8r
Another question that is probably right in the docs and I am missing it...
I want to add a layer that changes the data based on the extents?
i want to request JSON by extents and update the pins accordingly. I also don't want to do it for all zoom levels
ESRI's works really well for their REST data, but unless I'm missing something obvious, I'm not seeing the way for custom formatted data

Hey all, trying to implement a editable map application in a react application. I know there is the react-leaflet-editable library but it does not include all the functionality I need so I am instead trying to the leaflet-geoman library (https://github.com/geoman-io/leaflet-geoman).

My Question; is there a way to have a popup in leaflet that contains javascript or (preferred) a react component? Maybe I am misunderstanding something, but it seems like the <Popup /> component in React is not compatible with the leaflet popup content. Any ideas on how to continue?
