It should be all open for edits. I added an example on how to comment in the "notes" section.

I have to leave, but thanks so much for looking through it, @mpfl ! Looking forward to more comments and contributions, and I'll be adding to it throughout the next few weeks. Thanks everyone, have a great weekend! :)

is someone interested in starting a discussion for the git lesson?
Chris Erdmann
@libcce
hi @silviadg87 i'll be online in about an hour and can chat
I think an ice breaker without doing something on your computer would be nice
adapting jargon busting?
or what about just exploring wikipedia?
like the questions you ask, about your home town/city and whether information in Wikipedia is missing/accurate?
Konrad Förstner
@konrad
Yes, that would be great. Look for you hometown in different languages and look if the number of citizen is the same.

@libcce
It allows you to start with Wikipedia and then talk about how Wikidata is the underlying database/souce
Chris Erdmann
@libcce
@silviadg87 what do you think about the git intro?
Silvia Di Giorgio
@silviadg87
I will have a look at it :-)
@libcce I like it
Chris Erdmann
@libcce
:) Might need something about creating a website for the thesis/dissertation project as well?
Those were the 4 major themes: collaboration, sharing, versioning, website
Chris Erdmann
@libcce
@silviadg87 are you still there?
Have time to chat?
Silvia Di Giorgio

Looking at the Git lesson, will it be that we start with setting up an account, creating a template thesis md file and then walking through a my first pull request?
We talked about merge conflicts before
in an exercise
Just as the lessons use datasets, I wonder if we can have a sample thesis md file?
I think we talked about this as well
Silvia Di Giorgio
@silviadg87
usually we ask to create an account before the workshop. We add this request on the email we send the week before
Chris Erdmann
@libcce
So something to put in setup
and possibly instructor notes
Silvia Di Giorgio
@silviadg87
but yes we enter in the account and then I would say we create a repository and start the thesis.md file
yes
Chris Erdmann
@libcce
Do you have a sample thesis.md file? From the Git lesson you ran?
@silviadg87 shoot... but this is great... i'm feeling good about the direction of the lesson now :)
Silvia Di Giorgio
@silviadg87
me too :-)

@libcce unfortunately I am leaving soon... We recycled already some material from the software carpentry lesson (hope this is fine) and we started writing the new part as well.
