Hi everyone, I just added to some of the comments that have been left by some astronomers in the doc. I've got to catch a plane now :) But I am still very interested in the ORCID scenario in Particle Physics!

We are now assuming that our target audience are "Early Career Researchers", which is helping us to focus even more on the type of information that we write.

Summary from Europe: for Astronomy we have decided on early career researchers as target audience. We have made good progress on Thing 1, 2, 4, 5 and started working on a few others. Everything is ready for review for anyone who has time, additions and comments more than welcome!
Signing off... have a good sprint and see you all on Monday!

@KristinaHettne_twitter ! Thank you! Picking up where you left off here in the USA we'll check in on the conference call hourly and welcome all - feel free to hop on, join in, contribute, lurk in the docs, etc.! Bye til Monday Europe!

Good morning everyone! Starting up from Europe now with me and Joanne in Leiden. Maria and Evert are joining soon as well. We will continue the work on the Astronomy Things.
Thanks a lot Chris! I will revise and hopefully send it out this week.

Newbie questions ahead...: at DANS in The Hague we're preparing Things about EOSC and FAIR. Q1: is it ok to start a new topic? Q2: we registered in the etherpad https://pad.carpentries.org/2019-lc-mozsprint. Should we register or announce the topic elsewhere too? Q3: Is the info in the November 2018 "Registration and coordination" doc still valid (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1XRkKMjqpqO-5wdAd5X8a3Z-0at7F4NOiKCMFSDev53c/edit#heading=h.4qwfeav0o3rv)? Q4: 30-31 May the Dutch typically don't work (Ascension Day + bridge day) so we aim to sprint the days before. What do you require/recommend on 30-31st to stay in touch with "you", the global sprint? Apologies for these last-minute questions and many thanks for your help!

@orchid00
hi @MarjanGrootveld_twitter Did someone answered your questions ? You can work before that's completely alright! If you want to advertise your topic somewhere else that's OK too. This is what I did for my topic top 10 FAIR things for imaging https://characterisation-virtual-laboratory.github.io/CVL_Community/10FAIRthings-progress/ the zoom and gitter details are on the etherpad so as long as you have those you are good to go to stay in touch. Question for you, can I collaborate? I'm interested although my time zone is AEST I am happy to work on it if you share a collaborative document. :)
@MarjanGrootveld_twitter how wonderful! I've just popped a reference into your miscellaneous links section for your writing tomorrow which might be useful!

Hello 🤓 another DANSer here working on different topic! We are creating easy guidelines which help explain the WHY (and the how) of the steps to turn a dataset into Linked Open Data. Doing our absolute best to avoid jargon and tech talk! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zJ3X29PbzHaKYVJz85A0qfS-eocpd7B1YlbyBEOt798/edit# We are sprinting today and anyone is welcome to dive in 🖥🖱🌍

Hi @ragamouf_twitter Thank you, that was a nice surprise ;-)

@MarjanGrootveld_twitterbeaming I felt a little like a knowitall barging in, but it just looks so useful I couldn't not share it!
Hi @MarjanGrootveld_twitter this is great! Will you be adding exercises for EOSC&FAIR? This will be really helpful for those who have heard about EOSC and want to become more familiar with it .
Marjan Grootveld
@MarjanGrootveld_twitter
Hi @libcce Thanks for your feedback! Exercises would indeed be helpful, but we don't know any for the combination FAIR and EOSC... Any suggestions?
Can be a number of things from reading a guide to registering for a service...
Whatever you think is best to give someone hands on experience with EOSC
Hardest part is weeding down the information into the core bit of information/concept that you want people to take away
under each Thing
BTW @GerardCoen_twitter I'm looking forward to diving into your doc later! Definitely a good topic to address!

@MarjanGrootveld_twitter
@libcce Thank you; we'll see what we can fit it that's attractive and not too "EC-bureaucratic".

@orchid00 Hi Paula, how's work on the image Things progressing? At DANS we've worked on EOSC Things today, and there's certainly room for additions and/or exercises (see also Chris' suggestions in this channel), so feel free. Friday our time (CEST) Frans will pick it up again and do some editing, and then we'll hand it over ;-)

Hi! just starting my day here, will work on organising, cleaning and adding activities for the 10FAIR things for imaging. I will look at the eosc things later today, early morning for you @MarjanGrootveld_twitter

Question, are controlled vocabularies the same as ontologies? thoughts?
