Hi everyone! I have been using Loop for a while now, but trying to re-set it up on my new Mac. On step 1 to install Homebrew I'm getting the following error pop up "Can't install the software because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."
Any ideas on how to fix this?

@Kdisimone
Are you using terminal app? Can you take screenshot?
Catherine Washburn
@catherinewashburn
Actually think it somehow still worked -- seeing it in my Xcode preferences. Here is the screenshot though of what I saw. Thank you for quick response!

@Kdisimone Thank you for helping me with identifying the version differences. @rsilvers129 you've given me far more information than I asked for, and it is all very useful. I have not been able to identify IRC as you use it in your Loop-Dev version.

@dabear I haven't tried. But this is a good idea. Do you know if someone tried it already?
dabear
@dabear
@deedeemo_jr_twitter not for the reservoir, but I know many people have used sugru to fix the battery compartment

I was taking a look at sugru and indeed I think that it would be too soft to hold the reservoir.
In terms of comm reability with RileyLink, would 522 with 2.4 FW be better 522 with 2.3?
I cannot build Loop on the Dev side because my Team Provisioning Profile does not include the com.apple.developer.siri entitlement. Is there any easy way to correct that in the profile, or will I need to create a new profile? I am currently using a free profile.

I am thinking about customizing my version of loop to have an optional switch to allow myself to deliver a calculated superbolus with meals. Before I dig In i figured I’d check if anyone else has done such a thing?
(Note, I am talking about a sugar surfing style bolus to help with meals as opposed to openaps smb style microboluses/smb)
I’ve done this manually at times by adding a couple hours of basal to my bolus up front. Loop just backs off as it should to counter the extra iob and it works quite well.

@deedeemo_jr_twitter Sugru would be solid enough - it is moldable when it's first out of the package, but it cures pretty solid after 24 hours. The question is whether or not there is enough left of the rest of the pump support structure to attach it to firmly. Here are my photos of repairing the battery compartment on my pump with Sugru. If you don't have a Facebook account, let me know and I can get the photos to you another way.

@elnjensen thanks for the hint. I don't have a FB account. :worried:

@elnjensen
OK, let me see if I can find the photos on my hard drive...
Eric Jensen
@elnjensen
OK, here's the before and after:
Here's a different angle where you can see the threads molded into the Sugru:
To get that molded effect, I took out the battery cap, coated the threads with a light coat of petroleum jelly, put it back in, then molded the Sugru onto it. That allows you to get the right shape without having the Sugru bond to the cap. You could do the same thing with a reservoir.

Teflon tape would work also.
Eric Jensen
@elnjensen
Maybe harder to get the tape to push down into the threads if you’re pushing something soft against it though.

One of the objectives of FDA is to make sure devices do no harm. How would that requirement fit with having a device not physically attached to your body, like the iphone? There may be situtations were the phone is out of range. I know that the pump will fallback to its pre-defined basals ofcourse.

@drmartinezs
Hi, can you give me the link to download loop irc, watch, please
katie disimone
@Kdisimone
@drmartinezs there isn’t an official branch with those things merged together. The IRC and watch features are still awaiting merge into dev branch separately. Most of us have merged them ourselves. You can look in the Loop’s github for PRs and find where the branches are for each of those.
drmartinezs
@drmartinezs
Oh, ok , thanks Katie. Where can I learn how to merge ?
out of curiosity, do most people still fall pretty close to the old "rule of 1800" for ISF, where you take 1800 divided by total insulin for the day (1800/TDD)? Do your actual ISFs come close to that general rule?
dabear
@dabear
My total insulin needs vary between 60-110 units per day, so Hard to say

@tswire
Same with me. I found that 1800 (or 100 for mmol) rule to be too “light” for me on Loop. As mentioned before I was 1.7 with around 55 units per day which was bang in pre loop. After loop I am now 2.5 mmol to be correct which would equal only 40 units a day. I am anywhere from 60-100 units now.
