macOS sierra 10.12.6
(but in xcode build settings – base sdk 10.13...)

are you guys okay with that?

@uranusjr
Andre-John Mas
@ajmas
I can’t speak for the team, but based on what I see around me, OS version - 1 is probably a good approach, on the condition we can find people willing to do the testing.
What I mean is I am still seeing a fair few people still running 10.12
Valeriy Zimnev
@zmnv

Problem is not solved :(

Is that doesn't work at 10.12? I afraid to update OS to 10.13 because of f...n cryptography...

I just wanna have a last version with Toolbar and paste images in 0.7.2 but this is unofficial more than half-year...
Also translate UI to Russian / Ukrain..

Josselin Auguste
@josselinauguste
hello, does a macdown plugin repository exists?
I'm looking for a plugin which just inserts the current date for updating the frontmatter markup
John Muccigrosso
@Jmuccigr
@josselinauguste There are System Services that do that. Try cmd-shift-]
Josselin Auguste
@josselinauguste
I can’t find one, strange
John Muccigrosso
@Jmuccigr
@josselinauguste Sorry, it's in Devon's Word Service: http://www.devontechnologies.com/download/products.html
Josselin Auguste
@josselinauguste
sadly it does not print the date with the rght format, so I made a basic plugin: https://github.com/josselinauguste/macdown-frontmatter
It is the first time I developed something using xcode or objectiveC, so the code is ugly, but it seems to work
Terry Braun
@talkingtab
I was going to look at issue #757 "open window in new tab option". Is someone working on it already? Does anyone have any hints, suggestions etc?
Štembera Michal
@stemberamichal
Hey guys, new to Open Source. Can someone explain me what is needed from me when I tested an issue: MacDownApp/macdown#940
Should I close it? I don't think I know enough to do the necessary review.
Štembera Michal
@stemberamichal
Which is solved by MacDownApp/macdown#943
Dominique Hallan
@CodefulDom
hey I have a question about the initial document that loads when you install MacDown. Is there a way to get it back after you have closed it?

I see a Plugins menu – is this feature done and if so, somewhere I can read about it?

version 0.7.2d137 (1007)
why the first '*'looks different from others, the old version don't get the problem.
Joshua Evans
@skyfriends
Is there a plugin available that can share across multiple users of MacDown?
Franklin Yu
@FranklinYu
@stuartcarnie The Plugin API is done, but it is not yet documented. I guess it’s in beta. If you want to develop one, see https://github.com/MacDownApp/macdown-gistit.
Franklin Yu
@FranklinYu
@daocoindao Source code for that please? I don’t seem to be able to reproduce the issue.
Nathanael Smith
@ndsmith
I'm new to MacDown and still learning the ropes. So far everything seems awesome! One question I had was about list items where the text was long enough to spill onto a second line (or longer). At present, it seems that the editor pane simply left-justifies the subsequent lines of text. It would be ideal for my purposes if the editor maintained the indentation of the present list level. Maybe this feature already exists and I couldn't find it? I'll add a screen shot to illustrate.

John Muccigrosso
@Jmuccigr
Just installed MacDown on a new iMac with High Sierra. Text substitutions that I have defined in the system (via Keyboard pref pane) are not working at all. They seem fine elsewhere. Thoughts?
Nathanael Smith
@ndsmith
@Jmuccigr It seems that this page is no longer checked by anyone working on the MacDown project. I think I'm going to post my question as an issue on the MacDown GitHub repo here: https://github.com/MacDownApp/macdown/issues That is the suggestion for getting help listed in the FAQ at the MacDown site (https://macdown.uranusjr.com/faq/#question) Best of luck!
John Muccigrosso
@Jmuccigr
@ndsmith I much prefer GitHub anyway. :-)

Brian Tully
@briantully
@here are there additional steps to build MacDown that aren't in the README?
for example, i don't appear to have any git submodules installed
Brian Tully
@briantully
does it require a specific version of ruby to get bundler to work?
.rvm/rubies/ruby-2.5.1/lib/ruby/2.5.0/rubygems.rb:289:in `find_spec_for_exe': can't find gem bundler (>= 0.a) with executable bundle (Gem::GemNotFoundException)

Greetings
I don't understand MacDown plugins, can somebody explain them to me please? Where do I find them? How do I install them?
Erick Navarro
@cutiko
¿Can somebody help me with my question=
Franklin Yu
@FranklinYu

i don't appear to have any git submodules installed

What does this mean? Did you follow https://github.com/MacDownApp/macdown#environment-setup ?

Jet CHEN
@legoming
Is there any possible to introduce live preview feature for macdown?
Andre-John Mas
@ajmas
Not sure what you mean? The right pane is a preview.
Jet CHEN
@legoming
Sorry I didn’t make a clear description
I mean there’s no dedicated preview panel ,you just write and return,then
What inputed will show as formated
Franklin Yu
@FranklinYu
@legoming You are probably looking for Mart Text: https://marktext.app/
Jet CHEN
@legoming
@FranklinYu yes, just something like this. I really like macdown which is the first markdown I used on Mac, I'm using it almost everyday. But I met some issues during latest use: 1) I need focus too much on both edit panel and preview panel; 2) scroll between edit and preview cannot be synced after I inserting many source codes and images.
Jet CHEN
@legoming
Can preview panel just scroll to where we're editing?
Franklin Yu
@FranklinYu
@legoming Preview panel is supposed to sync when editor panel is scrolled. Nevertheless, synchronization is one of the main technical difficulties.
