When I attempt to upload the NeoPixelTest example to my ESP8266 board, I get the following compile error:

Build options changed, rebuilding all
C:\Users\Matt\Documents\Arduino\libraries\NeoPixelBus_by_Makuna\src\internal\NeoEsp8266UartMethod.cpp:34:22: fatal error: uart.h: No such file or directory

 #include <uart.h>

                  ^

compilation terminated.

exit status 1
Error compiling for board NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module).

Any suggestions? Still very new to arduino

@mattncsu How did you install the board support and the NeoPixelLibrary? I just confirmed it builds with the limited information you gave.

@Makuna Sorry, I know better than to not specify-- I'm running IDE 1.6.13 on Windows 7 (x64). Added latest NeoPixelBus library version (2.2.4? -not at my pc right now). I am trying to control these pixels (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AG923GI/) using this board (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010O1G1ES/)

@mattncsu Did you add Esp8266 support through the board manager? What version is that support?

NeoPixelBus 2.2.4 is the latest. I used IDE 1.6.12 and upgrading now to see if they broke something in 1.6.13. This is a software/config issue so the actual hardware shouldn't matter yet.

My Esp8266 Arduino Board support is 2.3.0.
look in C:\Users\<your windows user name>\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\esp8266\hardware\esp8266\2.3.0\cores\esp8266 and you should find uart.h; the file it is having a problem finding.
IDE 1.6.13 compiled fine for me. Please check the existence of the file above.
