Question, is there a plan for the service-ui to do SSO like the main UI does?

Hi! Does actioncable for notifications work in ui-service? found this commit ManageIQ/manageiq-ui-service@889b9f5
Allen Wight
@AllenBW
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

@KarinaTiurina
Hi! I'm still researching actioncable for notifications in ui-service. For me it's not working when subscription creates in login.state.js (subscription successfully creates on backend and then finishes after a second). And I don't understand how it should work, cause the hash is empty (without received and other functions): cable.subscriptions.create('NotificationChannel', {}). So I moved creation to navigation-controller.js and added functions (received, disconnected) and now it works.
@AllenBW Could you please explain how it should work in login.state.js? Perhaps I forgot configs or something else?

@KarinaTiurina one person that might be able to help is @skateman, but he is on holiday today, so may not chime in until Monday

NICE . . . that you can take a look, not that you are on a boring train :smile:

Hi,
How to allow cross origin for manageIQ.
I am getting this Error "Load denied by X-Frame-Options: https://localhost does not permit cross-origin framing".

opening new tab and going ui/service/services/:id redirects to login page if user authorized
can someone check it?

@sckhg1367 Can you post this over in the core room, since the question doesn't really have anything to do with the self service ui? https://gitter.im/ManageIQ/manageiq/core

Hello All, I want to create a service dialog with sections dependency. For example, if customer will check the checkbox then the next section would be visible to him otherwise no. Let me know if this section dependency we can do it in service dialog or if there is any required document for the same would be a great help.
Neha Chugh
@cNeha
ok, so I followed this article http://talk.manageiq.org/t/service-dialogs-conditional-visibility/2063/6 and now i am able to restrict the visibility

Hi! manageiq-ui-service isn't being developed any longer, is it?
There is Hybrid Cloud Managment services now.
Jason Frey
@Fryguy
it's being maintained, but no new features have been planned for the next release
not sure what you mean by Hybrid Cloud Managment services
Oleg Bekasov
@bekasovoleg
Jason Frey
@Fryguy
it is an alternate microservice implementation of the existing manageiq catalog...it is not a part of the ManageIQ released product at this time
unrelated to the self service ui
Oleg Bekasov
@bekasovoleg
Could you tell where this alternate is used and for what?
Jason Frey
@Fryguy
Its currently being built for Red Hat Cloud Services, with the long-term goal is that it could be deployed as part of ManageIQ
hence why it lives in our org at the moment
I guess you can say it's the first pass at an experimental microservice architecture for ManageIQ
Oleg Bekasov
@bekasovoleg
Ok, sounds very cool
Daniil Satsura
@dsatsura
Hi Jason,
Daniil Satsura
@dsatsura
so, manageiq team doesn't have plans to develop own manageiq-ui-service UI, right ?
Jason Frey
@Fryguy
I'm not sure what you mean...it's already been developed
we are maintaining bug fixes definitely, and while there an no new features this release, that doesn't mean there won't be in the future
Daniil Satsura
@dsatsura
yep, meant thanks,I meant new futures. What about using newer version of Angular instead of AngularJS 1.x ?
Jason Frey
@Fryguy
that's a good question...in general most of the ui code is moving towards react components, so I would expect we'd move towards that at some point
Oleg Bekasov
@bekasovoleg
@Fryguy Is it possible to contribute the catalog-ui?
Martin Hradil
@himdel
@ahrechushkin use words please :) What is it that surprises you?
Aliaksei Hrechushkin
@ahrechushkin

Where we set service.type?

irb(main):009:0> Service.all.collect{|x| x.type}.uniq
=> [nil]

@himdel

Greg McCullough
@gmcculloug
@ahrechushkin type is a special field for Rails that is used to support sub-classing of models. If type is nil it means it is the base class.
Martin Hradil
@himdel
indeed, the sui code should match both ServiceAnsiblePlaybook and ServiceAnsibleTower that way
(the name fallback when type is missing does surpise me, but it's been that way since ManageIQ/manageiq-ui-service#430, possibly a compatibility thing with older services?)
Martin Hradil
@himdel
(for me, Service.all.collect{|x| x.type}.uniq returns [nil, "ServiceAnsiblePlaybook", "ServiceContainerTemplate", "ServiceOrchestration"])

classic removed in https://github.com/ManageIQ/manageiq-ui-classic/commit/c841fef64497e0814d698c6b8b109c01fd29b139#diff-446186b48d9c591e0e77ce2746b5f679 and just using ws. Our API supports default (none/api 10 min timeout) and both ui & ws both the Settings.session.timeout of 60 minutes, with ws using a different namespace for the token. For an API only driven UI (service-ui or any such SPA), it's perfectly fine to keep using the requester_type=ui for the token.
