@djberg96 I look at pg a lot more than just rails/miq

true, but it would be nice to have them somewhere yes?
manageiq or manageiq-schema seem logical
pglogical even ;)

@kbrock something to remember is that YOU are not the customer, and what @djberg96 is probably suggesting is that we have this script somewhere (ManageIQ/manageiq/tools?) so they can make use of it themselves.

We could even point them in a direction when using the rake evm:db:dump:* commands from the appliance console to look at which tables they should potentially exclude when generating a dump for support.

ok, I totally agree with that. but, these are pg scripts, not miq scripts. requiring the environment to run these things will be slow and not as useful as just being generic pg tools
I also find wanting a script to dump / load. I often need to do this for our db but forget all the -j options and stuff

@Fryguy I would recommend using --exclude-table-data (no short option I am afraid), since you can then just use the dump wholesale without having to migrate prior to make sure all the tables exist

(EDIT: sorry, had the wrong flag in there originally)

also, you can make use of * in that (example: --exclude-table-data metric*) to trim down the number of flags you need to use
