    @bernd5 Ctrl-Q "decompiled" takes you there - it's in Options / Text Editor / C# / Advanced I believe

    another question
    I have some tests based on NUnit and dotnet core.
    I reinstalled my machine - but now I can't profile them
    Profiling of a normal exe works - but not for the tests
    it shows no profiling window
    Any idea?
    In the Test-console I can read:
    IMPORTANT Profiling .NET Core tests requires full PDB's. Be sure to set Debug information level to Full on each project to be profiled.

    I checked it with VS2022, VS2019 Preview and VS2019 - it does not work in all of them

    I'm trying to build something from VS2019 Community, using the new CMakePresets. I previously had some configs that worked for CMakeSettings.json, but I get a strange error about duplicate manifest when I try CMakePresets:
    {$BUILD_DIR}\CVTRES : fatal error CVT1100: duplicate resource. type:MANIFEST, name:1, language:0x0409
    {$BUILD_DIR}\LINK : fatal error LNK1123: failure during conversion to COFF: file invalid or corrupt
    Does anyone know what would cause such an error?

    Hi. Why does VS2019 update always break one thing or the other. In a version, I experience high sustained CPU usage. Once updated, the CPU usage is gone but now quick action doesn't work and neither will I see error squiggle until I compile. Error List not updated either, I only track error in build output tab. I will have to restart VS over and over before it will finally work. Any suggestions please.

    C++, Python, CSharp, F#....

    Wow - Just installed VS2022 preview 1.1 = what can I say. As bad as 2019 was, everything is worse with 2022. As predicted, they have gone backwards again. Soon VS will be totally unusable. Everything takes longer and I have not come across any improvements that I can actually take advantage of.

    Is there a SKU and a rel we can use for the 22 preview? i.e. Community, 17 was rel 15, 19 was rel 16, 22 is rel 17?
    Yann Duran
    @yannduran
    yes 2022 is 17
    as far as sku's go they'e all available for VS 2022, Community, Pro, Enterprise

    I saw some releases drop this week 13 Jul, but no 16.10.4, is that correct? although a 16.11 apparently, in preview. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/visualstudio/install/visual-studio-build-numbers-and-release-dates?view=vs-2019

    HI I am trying to install Visual Studio Professional silently using a config file, which I generated from an existing VS 2019 installation.

    I am using the command vs_professional__595095968.1588866019.exe --quiet --norestart --installWhileDownloading --productKey=<ProductKey> --wait --cache --config=VS2019.config

    However I only see Visual Studio Installer being installed and that too when I invoke is not working.

    Hi all! Is there a way to view solution loading errors? I'm generating a .sln file and while it loads fine in Rider, latest VS 2019 Proffesional complains that it's corrupt

    2019 16.11.0 seems to have left out the support for Visual Basic and .Net libraries that were always available without doing an import. You now have to explicitly import System, Microsoft.VisualBasic, Linq and a whole lot more.

    They redid all the C# project templates. Maybe they changed VB templates too?
    Er, sorry, that's VS 2022 Preview
    Paul M Cohen
    @paul1956
    These were all existing applications and and the problem is identical in VS 2022 Preview 3 and VS 2019 16.11.0.

    hey

    how do you all move your cursor freely to any character in vs2019? i rmb there is one extension allow me to do that, for eg after i activate the shortcut key, and press 'a', each character 'a' will appear with a symbol, i press the specific symbol on top of the character 'a' to move my cursor to the character 'a' i want to. more details example:
    | is my cursor

     1              2             3                 4
    |amsjhdjaqwiueasoiwqoea

    If i press '4', my curosr will move to

    1              2             3                  4

    Hi! I am wrinting C#. Is there a way to turn off the "implemeting/implemented methods/types" indicators in VS2022? That light blue color is too shiny and puts too much noise when looking at code.

    Can installing Visual Studio 2022 Preview interfere with the stability of an already installed VS 2019 instance?

    I have a .NetF project that is including a .NetS package, inside the project's packages.config is this:
    <package id="Valence.Core" version="4.0.0" targetFramework="net472" />
    So, why does it say targetFramework="net472" rather than netstandard2?
    Daynvheur

    Can installing Visual Studio 2022 Preview interfere with the stability of an already installed VS 2019 instance?

    No. I've such an environment, and everything works fine as far as I'm aware of.

    So, why does it say targetFramework="net472" rather than netstandard2?

    .Net framework's 4.7.2 does not correspond to .Net Standard 2. Could you find clues in your environment/colleagues about why the primer was used instead of the later? /What do you expect as an answer?

    Hugh Gleaves
    @Korporal
    I wonder why a .Net 5 project (which can consume .NetS 2.0 targeted assemblies) cannot consume .Net Framework 4.0 assemblies when .NetS 2.0 itself implements .Net Framework 4.6.1
