    @arunkumar413 for web app debugging, install any of these extension:

    1. https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=msjsdiag.debugger-for-edge (if you have new chromium based edge, almost same as running chrome)
    2. https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=msjsdiag.debugger-for-chrome (if you have chrome)

    Click on run button on side bar (triangle with bug icon)
    create launch configuration, it will automatically create based on debugger extension you installed.
    "version": "0.2.0", "configurations": [{ "type": "chrome", "request": "launch", "name": "Launch Chrome against localhost", "url": "http://localhost:8080", "webRoot": "${workspaceFolder}" }, { "name": "Launch Edge", "request": "launch", "type": "pwa-msedge", "url": "http://localhost:4200", "webRoot": "${workspaceFolder}", "sourceMaps": true, "skipFiles": [ "${workspaceFolder}/node_modules/**/*.js", "${workspaceFolder}/node_modules/**/*.es6.js", "${workspaceFolder}/node_modules/", "<node_internals>/**/*.js", "${workspaceFolder}/lib/**/*.js", } ] }

    then run you web app as you usually do.
    select the debugger and then launch to open a debug session.

    Does this also debug the server side code?

    I want to set breakpoints and watch variables in the vscode.

    you can set debugging points in vscode only, you can watch also.
    and it will be in sync wih your browser.

    Does this also debug the server side code?

    do you mean, node/express ?
    Yes, but that you have to run server code in vscode also.

    It's possible to install/uninstall an extension using the vscode API (from my own extension)?

    @Gers2017
    I don't think they provide an API (maybe), but you can have a look at code of this extension.
    https://github.com/webstp/extension-manager

    In this, the extension is reading a list, then downloading them and triggering install i.e. what one will do to manual download and install, extension code is doing for them.

    Howdy folks! Not sure if I can ask this here but I'm having an issue where the devs of a project works with PHP and have a rulseset.xml file for Codesniffer. They set the standard to use single quotes, but one of my extensions changes them to double quotes. I have prettier and eslint installed. Is there a way to make vscode follow the ruleset.xml rules?
    I don't want to disable/enable extensions every time I change project
    shivam kumar
    @Shiva7071007
    @rexodys:matrix.org have a look at it and see if it helps
    shivam kumar
    @Shiva7071007
    @rexodys:matrix.org create a workspace, load your project in workspace, and then modify that setting only for that workspace.

    Rexodys: you disable / enable extensions per workspace (project). does it help?

    hi there!

    i wonder if there is a way to make vscode stop putting spaces in front of my code-comments.

    so that using ctrl+k+c twice would actually lead to "////xyz" instead of "// // xyz"

    Hi all, I just saw an extension called vschat and this got me thinking, has anyone implemented matrix rooms in a coding environment yet? Especially vscode

    Hi, some languages (rust in this example) provide inline type hints (see rust-analyzer/rust-analyzer#3453 for an example).
    I would like to have those for typescript as well, but cannot find a setting for it. Is that possible/supported or does some extension exist? Thanks in advance.

    In VSCode, I opened VSCode DevTools from Help -> Togle Developer Tools. And when i went to the Console tab I just see a bunch of huge errors and warnings, most of them contain Extension Host, could anyone tell me if this is common or there is some problem with my one. Although my VSCode works fine, no problems.

    I installed an extension but it's grayed out in the list and I can't enable it. What does that mean? I don't see anything in the "Extension host" logs or the regular logs.
    shivam kumar
    @Shiva7071007
    @jtrakk which extension did you install?
    shivam kumar
    @Shiva7071007
    @jtrakk Sorry I am not able to reproduce this issue. Have you tried reloading Vscode or uninstalling and installing extension
