@Tom-Ski
is there an eta?

@dkimitsa
Hey, we are targeting end of May / beginning of June to start opening pool for Enterprise and Teams customers, and later for all customers, but that is a pretty rough timeline and the actual dates can vary.
for now we have to build arm64 slice locally on macos11 (any of x86_64 or m1 will work)
Tomski
@Tom-Ski
nice
Are they manually triggered actions?
Demyan Kimitsa
@dkimitsa
@Tom-Ski yep manual ones
Tomski
@Tom-Ski
Ok cool, so we can merge those and trigger the build, and then upload the manually built ones, and we should be covered until we can get a runner available?

Hi all
Now that 2.3.13 is released perhaps it would be a good idea to go through the list of open GH issues and see which ones can be closed. I'm sure many of them are resolved already.
such as this one #557
Guillermo Rodríguez
@guillerodriguez
Perhaps the http://robovm.mobidevelop.com/ website could be updated as well (still says "iOS 11 and XCode 9 are mostly supported", and links to a non-existing Wiki page)
If I can be of any help please let me know
Demyan Kimitsa
@dkimitsa
there is another one in development
looks much better
obigu handling it
Tomski
@Tom-Ski
Yeah we're killing that one
We need a solution for eclipse i think if poeople use that
I dont think we can use s3 for an eclipse site
But i have no idea, other than that we need to change release scripts before phasing that one out. But yeah, @obigu is heading the new site, its OSS under the org , so feel free to update it

from SO

It depends on what the zip contains. Take a look to see if it got content.jar and artifacts.jar. If it does, it is an archived updated site. Install from it the same way as you install from a remote site.

probably we can pack target/site to zip and put it on s3
Tomski
@Tom-Ski
Yeah ok that should work then

@haulevan_twitter please stop posting so long logs to main channel. better post it to https://pastebin.com / whatever and share the link.
crash log you shared looks very similar to this issue MobiVM/robovm#583
in general make sure you run less than 256 threads (native + java ones)

Got it. Thanks @dkimitsa

Hi @dkimitsa,
I got an issue related to rvmInitialize and another related to rvmRaiseException. Could you please give me some instructions to fix them?

Updated pods

Pushed AltPods to v1.17.0-SNAPSHOT for testing. There was no significant API changes. Frameworks were just refreshed

Hi all, I'm having trouble detecting touch input on iOS at the top and bottom edges of the screen, probably about 3% of screen height along both edges. It's like it wasn't even touched. Has anybody seen this before -- maybe I forgot to set a flag in the build?

I feel like this has happened before, but I forget what the solution was. I'm getting "java.io.IOException: Failed to mount /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/14.0/DeveloperDiskImage.dmg on the device."

I've already updated XCode, made sure that file exists, and ran successfully a sample app in XCode. I've also restarted both my computer and the device. I'm using RoboVM 2.3.13

Full output: https://pastebin.com/0t3bSFb1

Would really appreciate any help.

@clydebarrow

V 2.3.13 broke some existing code:

    fun testCgrect(): String {
        val rect = CGRect()

        if(rect.origin.x != 0.0)
            return "Fail1"
        rect.origin.x = 10.0
        if(rect.origin.x != 10.0)
            return "Fail2"
        return "Success"
    }

This fails on the second test with 2.3.13. I believe this is because the @ByVal annotation now results in different behaviour. AFAIK in Swift or Objective C code equivalent to the above works as expected. So should getOrigin() and getSize() be ByVal or ByRef?

Looks better than the old one.

I didn't know you were planning to change the project name (RoboVM -> MobiVM)
Not sure if that's good. Not that the "robovm" name is super well-known but at least it has some traction. That will be lost with the name change.
Tomski
@Tom-Ski
Mobivm is the name of this fork, we refer to the project as robovm still. This isn't something new either, its always been that way since we forked.
Guillermo Rodríguez
@guillerodriguez
Yes but not mentioned anywhere here: http://robovm.mobidevelop.com/
That's the first time I see someone using "MobiVM" as the "product name"
Hi all. Anybody using Firebase-Analytics from dkimitsa's altpods ?
We're seeing a linking error for storekit (ld: framework not found storekit)
But it is strange that nobody reported this before according to @dkimitsa
Demyan Kimitsa
@dkimitsa
@guillerodriguez as you mentioned, FS is not case sensitive on MacOSx by default
obigu
@obigu

That's a good point it deserves some discussion. We can't use old logos and branding so it made sense to me to create a new logo with "MobiVM" as text. That implies a change in how we name the product by just looking at the logo.

IMO calling it MobiVM has the advantage users don't end up in the old repo or old references (if you look for RoboVM on Google you get "RoboVM is Dead" as one of the top results, not great)
the new branding went on that direction but if that's not the way we want to go I'd change the new logo and remove references on the site

Not sure what the legal status of the RoboVM name and brand is. So yes probably it makes sense to rename it.

Although I would probably try to use the MobiVM name just as a legal shield ("this is the product name") and try to minimize usage everywhere else
Pushing a new name / logo is a difficult task
As an example only -- the old website (Which admittedly needed an update) doesn't even mention MobiVM
I admit this is a complex topic
obigu
@obigu
Yeah, the old website was hacked in a very short amount of time and it made sense to keep RoboVM name to migrate users from the defunct version to the new fork.
Hi Demyan,
this is code that is implemented on RoboVM SDK
@Method(selector = "logEventWithName:parameters:")
public void logEvent(String name, NSDictionary<NSString, NSString> parameters) {
FIRAnalytics.logEvent(name, parameters);
}
