Which branch are you on for MonoGame.Extended?
When I was working on a project 1-2 years ago, I had to compile MonoGame.Extended from source without it being a PCB project. Only then would it run fine in MGCB. not sure if that's still the case now but I remember getting that same error

@tekktonic_gitlab
I just used the dotnet package command. The issue isn't necessarily mgcb itself, but rather that the editor crashes when I try to use it.
and it's an awful lot of boilerplate to type myself, at least for images.

It's possible to open up the MGCB file in a text editor and remove the reference manually in the "References" section near the top of the file
Once that's gone, you should be able to use the editor without it crashing
Fixing Monogame.Extended would be another issue, but you'd at least be able to import PNGs with MGCB

@tekktonic_gitlab
There's no reference mgcb is crashing on though
The crash is as soon as it tries to open the file dialog

Which platform are you on?
Daniel Wilkins
@tekktonic_gitlab
arm64 w/ manjaro

Hmm I would suggest filing an issue or digging deeper if possible (Ex. compiling from source w/ stack trace)
Daniel Wilkins
@tekktonic_gitlab
Built mgcb-editor by cloning the repo, fetching the submodules, then going into the Tools/MonoGame.Content.Builder.Editor/ directory, and running dotnet publish -c Release --self-contained -r linux-arm64 -o out ./MonoGame.Content.Builder.Editor.Linux.csproj
then copying the out directory to somewhere executable
I'll try a debug build to see if I get a better trace
Better. I'll file a bug on it.

Is this the master branch or develop?
Looks like they changed develop to the default branch
master hasn't been updated in close to a year

@tekktonic_gitlab
Develop

I'll give a try on my machine, I'm running Mint

I think I threw enough detail in there to reproduce.
Could be some really weird architecture issue like it getting confused over endianness or something.

Yeah I'm not experiencing the crash on amd64
Daniel Wilkins
@tekktonic_gitlab
Interesting.
So I guess it could either be a too-new-libraries situation or an architecture situation I guess.

Hello developers. I've just tried to use MG version 3.8 and faced a such problem which was not in previous versions. So I have display with resolution 1920 x 1080 but I want to run my game with window size 1024 x 768 and when I run game that my window stretches on full screen.
What do I wrong?
public Monogame()
        {
            graphics = new GraphicsDeviceManager(this);
            graphics.PreferredBackBufferHeight = 768;
            graphics.PreferredBackBufferWidth = 1024;
            Content.RootDirectory = Directory.GetCurrentDirectory() + "/Content/";
           }

@s-m-k
you should add graphics.IsFullScreen = false and then graphics.ApplyChanges() (though I don't remember if the latter is absolutely needed during initialization)

Yeah, you're right! It's help me! Thanks

Sorry to bother everyone, but I'm having some troubles uninstalling monogame. remove and purge options keep bringing me packaging issues for installation???

@Klihfuhrd
Hello developers, would anyone be able to inform the steps for uninstalling your application

MonoGame is typically installed through NuGet now. are you referring to the pipeline tool? Which OS are you running and which version of MonoGame are you using?
Klihfuhrd
@Klihfuhrd
Ubuntu 20.04

Are you trying to uninstall the pipeline tool?
the MGCB Editor

@Klihfuhrd
Yes,
monogame-uninstall: command not found
sudo apt-get remove mgcb-editor

Try: dotnet tool uninstall --global dotnet-mgcb-editor

@Klihfuhrd
A tool with the package Id 'dotnet-mgcb-editor' could not be found
I've been getting weird messages all day

Do you remember how you installed the tool?

From that link... which is why I'm lost

What have you done so far attempting to remove it?
I noticed you mentioned remove and purge
Klihfuhrd
@Klihfuhrd
Yeah, trying to do a full uninstall since I'm on an old machine. Transferred my work on my new one, but this laptop is running too slow
