Jure
@Jure-BB
After some testing I can say that the GC is definitely causing audio playback glitches (XAudio2 engine in DesktopDX). I've opened new issue here: #7000
Any ideas on how to approach fixing this as SharpDX has been discontinued?

@SolarOmni
If anyone here uses Nez, and knows how to use TextButtons from the UI, could ya' tell me how to change the font-size of the text on the button?

@nablabla

I mean, you definitely can port it to MonoGame, because monoGame is 99% identical to XNA.

The problem is that all the shader that I wrote do not work in monogame. And... I wrote a lot of them, every component has its own

Nikos Kastellanos
@nkast
@nablabla are you transferring the compiled XNBs of your assets or try to recompile them?
MG can import some of xna's XNB (textures,sounds,etc) but the effects/shaders are not compatible. usually it requires some rework.
Nikos Kastellanos
@nkast
I think FNA has tracompiler tools to convert XNA XNBs into it's own format.

@nablabla
i will try again, but i need some time. I'll come back to you and tell my experience. My shaders are ... lets say "special" :D

i am unable to add some utility projects, it says "The type 'ValueType' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'System.Runtime, Version=4.0.20.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a'."
when trying to reference Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Matrix
but the thing does not exist somehow, i can not add that reference it does not seem to exist
find and install latest version says it can not be done if i target frame work v4
nablabla
@nablabla
ok, i got rid o feverything that was using this value type, and everything seems to compile but the effects do not
Error Processor 'EffectProcessor' had unexpected failure!
how can i find out what is wrong?
that is what I meant with "I cant port to monogame"
it just rejects my effect files without telling me why

@nablabla are you transferring the compiled XNBs of your assets or try to recompile them?

i imported the .fx file

nablabla
@nablabla
also something else: Why do I never get any build output in the pipeline tool?
nablabla
@nablabla
cant get it to compile, effects and weirdly spritefonts (even if i define them anew)

http://community.monogame.net/t/resolved-beginner-issue-involving-font-loading-edit-broken-dll-dependencies-please-advise/8845

I think i have the same issue, however I have no clue what the people responding to this are talking about, some dependency of some stattically linked library, i am totally helpless

nablabla
@nablabla
The command ""C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\MonoGame\v3.0\Tools\MGCB.exe" /quiet /platform:DesktopGL /@:"C:\Users\xxxx\Content\Content.mgcb" /outputDir:"bin\DesktopGL\Content" /intermediateDir:"obj\DesktopGL\Content"" exited with code 1.
This is what i get, when i remove all the sprite fonts. Still errors
nablabla
@nablabla
i cant find anything useful on this topic. i am screwed
Kat Purpy
@KatPurpy
hello guys
i got a problem with adding shaders to monogame
Bart van der Werf
@bartwe
@nablabla try using the WindowsDX platform to see if you get a more usable error
otherwise it might be needed to invoke glslc.exe directly
Kat Purpy
@KatPurpy
basically monogame doesn't pass COLOR0 to the shader
platform: DesktopGL
even the default effect monogame creates results in black black color https://pastebin.com/dz6rrwkW
the version of monogame is 3.0
*3.7.1
pls help
Kat Purpy
@KatPurpy
;-;
Nikos Kastellanos
@nkast
the sprite font has a depedency on a VC120 library. the installer doesn't check/install it. you need to download and install the vs2012 redistributable.
Nikos Kastellanos
@nkast
as for the lack of error messages in VS it's a known issue. I had a fix but as far as i know it's not going to get fixed in the official repo. Since then i have my own custom build of the SDK/installer.

@nablabla are you trying to mix net.Framework with net.Core libraries?
in which platform are you porting it to? DesktopDX?
nablabla
@nablabla
it is not only in VS
I reinstalled the MG content pipeline, it does not show anything (the white box on the right remains empty all the time)
Nikos Kastellanos
@nkast
press the setting icon and disable the filter view. do you see any text messages?
press the rebuild btn on the toolbar, you will get atleast a 'build started' message.
are you using the 3.7.1 or a latest develop build?
nablabla
@nablabla
@nkast nothing, unless it is white on white o.O
Nikos Kastellanos
@nkast
I dunno
i never had this issue
even when you create a new empty project?
nablabla
@nablabla
yes
and this can not be due to me using vs2019 bc it is standalone right?
im on win10
try my guide

Let me know, how it works for you.

@harry-cpp
Use MonoGame.Templates.CSharp, it has templates for DesktopGL + other platforms

@harry-cpp Thanks! Updated.
