yea I'm not sure just how practically some of the intro stuff applies and I'm noticing big differences between the way that sitepoint teaches the ecma standard and some of the notation style that FCC teaches, both seem to work but I'm not sure if one is better than the other or if it's just the way things are done.
hmm ok it's interesting enough that you can use bracket notation to eliminate the need for something longer like console.log(example.toIndex(3)); but I'm not sure why the longer version became the standard lol
I'm earning my Website Design certificate at Montco to use with my Bachelors in Communications. I've been learning Java for two semesters and have one semester of HTML5 & CSS under my belt. I learned a little C for a school group project. Before that, I learned FORTRAN and Basic but had no reason to use it.
I guess the part of this that makes the least sense to me is obviously there has to be some real world practicality to wanting ot know what the 3 position of a response is but I can't think of any and I'm not sure going though github to find examples will help lol
it's cool, I lived in Flourtown most of my life so that was my home library but I've worked in Lansdale for 8yrs and up until December when I moved up here with my wife I barely knew anything past like main and susquehanna lol
Heh. Silly! Mostly the chat on Tuesday's is people chatting and answering questions as they come up. Many of the members are using http://www.freecodecamp.com as the primary method of learning with whatever other resources help.
mac? BSD is ok, but the UI they've pasted on top of it is too non-standard to be usable. I used them in Comcast for almost a year, and ended up doing a lot of my work at the command prompt. Friendlier!
If you don't feel like listening to me talk (I know I wouldn't!) you can just jump into FCC challenges in where ever interests you.
As far as presentations, David and I both have lists of topics that have been asked for. If there is something you want to specfically discuss, you can start a private discussion here on gitter, or facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org
LOL <hic> ... Jonathan saw, I think, a bit of my history on LinkedIn. I actually started coding way back in my last two years in High school, when we were taught FORTRAN, and given coding sheets to write programs on!
Hey! I've just been summoned by the brat of a child of a friend, demanding to be taken to the local WaWa for a drink of some sort. I have great sympathy for the poor woman, or I'd tell him where to get off, so I've to go. I'll maybe be back before 8. Maybe not. If not, it's been great and I'll get stuck into the FCC
