one of the restaurants I like got a new website today, it's really beautiful. I'm sure it's a template but I'd love to be able to make this site.

Yeah that is a nice site. Initial render time could be optimized :P

a fun challenge is just trying to recreate a website that already exists. Even if you end of copying and pasting code bits as that's fine as long as you understand what the bits do.

I probably should start doing things like that just to get better

It's a fun challenge and a great way to find a breakthrough when you hit a plateau.

That's alright! Have you done much with javascript yet, I know you mentioned recently that you wanted to do more with it

I've done very little with it, I got so stuck on the FCC lessons and I've tried a few classes but none of them seem to translate into A. enough of an understanding to write my own even very basic code and B. enough to go back to FCC and be able to get further in the lessons.

@lantech19446 try khanacademy, it’s a great intro that forces a hands-on approach

This second one is only if you don’t feel comfortable at all with html/css
in fact i think i’ll do the SQL course tomorrow maybe

I feel comfortable with the html / css but could definitely stand to improve. I may run through SQL myself there's a job i have a pretty good chance of getting right now that is looking for knowledge of sql because they don't have an actual DBA at the moment
