both conditions itch and burn like the dickens. The first only for 30 mins a flare. The other goes about two weeks /sigh Both can be calmed down with the same cream tho.

Ooh yea, the pic doesn't look pretty, that's something to be reckoned with.
Here's a link to some of my favorites on Flickr. See the pretty triangular knots? That's what I want to make in different shapes.
see, don't these look like Spirograph!

This is kind of like Hotel California
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 00:52
xD you can sign out but you don't need to. You can just close the browser and come back whenever you want. 59 people are currently signed in xD there is like three of us active.

Hey Lily - new here. I jumped in after 5pm because the post said that was the meetup time, but I think everyone was at dinner. Lol

Nov 02 2016 01:17
@TedTyree_twitter we are pretty much always in chat tho. Just Tuesday nights is when we try to devote time to actual coding instead of just chatting. Not that it always works out that way xD but the opportunity is there.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:18
gotcha
Is the group mostly people learning the art of coding? or a mix of levels?
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:19
a mix but everyone is a beginner is some language. The few people we have that are strong in some coding are totally new and trying to learn something else in coding.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:19
gotcha - cool
like the fb group coding for projects to help non-profits
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:23
The endpoint of the Free Code Camp curriculum is non-profit projects https://www.freecodecamp.com/how-nonprofit-projects-work
Free Code Camp is the base of MontCode uses but it's not required nor the only thing.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:29
sweet - just read through the site. brilliant

Here is a playlist of some video demos of previous NP projects -https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWKjhJtqVAbnQ048Pa8sAqJoVRhx8TJtM
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:32
That is pretty impressive - I was thinking that this was more local... but just the chat/meetup is local. The free code camp is global
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:34
yup yup. MontCode is local. We are not tied to FCC. We do utilize their website and we are an official campsite, but we are autonomous.
It's kinda the best of both worlds.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:36
Im in Lansdale. Ive been developing code for over 25 years. When I look for consultants I am always surprised at how few people actually know how to program anymore. Mostly just 'installing modules'. So I was wondering where people hang out that actually know how to program - and enjoy writing code
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:38
Awesome. The answer is... not many places in the suburbs. Everything seems to be in "The City" :tm:
I started MontCode 6 months ago partly because of that.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:39
nice - great idea
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:44
So most of the projects are on Heroku?
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:46
only MontBot and a personal project of my own (that I'm aware of) e.g. only my stuff. Most people are just starting to learn web dev and are using CodePen or, if a little more advanced, GitHub pages.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:46
gotcha
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:47
I know of one member (not really member, MontCode Leadership) who does some AWS stuff @davidjcastner who is full stack.
FCC uses CodePen for front-end and moves to cloud 9 for backend
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:49
neat - thanks for taking the time. esp when you are feeling under the weather
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:50
no worries! MontCode is a passion and I tend to forget I'm sick when talking about it. :laughing:
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:50
lol
that is the sign of a true coder
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:51
That's the eating lunch and then working on a project and then realizing it's almost sunrise... That happened a few days ago. Ooops.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:52
lol - yes I grew up with that problem. My Mother was not too keen on me missing entire days at a time from 'the real world'
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:53
Doesn't happen if I'm in the bedroom working on something.. I have this elaborate Home Automation setup that tells me it's bedtime. But, that doesn't extend to the living room. I need to come up with something else for that xD if LilyheartPC == on, then yell at Lily.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:53
cool
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:54
heh. I was that way too (but it was a grandmother) a few decades ago. Then moved 1/2 way across the country because of someone I met online... in the 90s... THE SCANDAL!
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 01:55
lol - that does sound like the plot of a movie or something
early in my career I got pulled into microsoft's world and do a lot of my middle/back-end dev in .net now. jquery and such on the front-end.
developed my own CMS in .net but it really would probably be better suited for code.js or something like that
someday if I have enough time I'll have to attempt the crossover
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 01:56
We have a few MIrcosoft people around. Two that work for them! One involved with VB and the other... I'm not really sure! He just got the job xD @dcpking ... What do you doooooooo?
I played with node over the summer break (After decades away, I've gone back to school to get a CS degree, I do college fall/spring and outside learning, bootcamp type things winter/summer)
I'm not all that familiar with it yet. I defer those questions to @davidjcastner who is full-stack.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 02:00
cool. I'll have to chat with him some day.
Were you asking what I do?
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 02:02
You either said or I saw on meetup when you joined.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 02:02
(people that work FOR microsoft?! I better watch what I say around here)
yeah - I joined a while back and filled out a profile, but have been so crazy busy that I haven't had a chance to connect until now
Lily Romano

That's why I mentioned it... personal chat hides if you don't know where it is.

Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 02:06
That's awesome. My roommate does IT type work. I've always been enamored with web stuff but never dug deep until more recently.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 02:07
I was more of an applications developer, but now I find SaaS solutions on the web to be much more powerful
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 02:08
So you use SaaS as a service? (my roommate groans when I make that joke... I think it never gets old)
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 02:09
lol
There is lots of sass flying around this house (I have teenagers)
Anyway - I've got to get a site launched by Wed, so I should focus
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Nov 02 2016 02:10
sass is totally different. That's web dev stuff! heh
Yeah, I should sleep in an attempt to get over whatever this is. We are always in chat even if it's quiet. Or you can message me here, meetup or Facebook if there is a specific need.
Ted Tyree
@TedTyree_twitter
Nov 02 2016 02:10

Thank Lily - much appreciated

Hi Lily, Hi Jon -- Jon, did you watch the Infinite Hotel? And by the way if you're interested in knots look up Globe Knots, all sorts of round configurations. They're really cool.

Hi @KR62 . How go the Khan studies?
KR62
@KR62
Nov 02 2016 23:43
I signed up and all, looks interesting but I'm not able to devote a lot of time to it, sure wish I could. Working fulltime during the week takes precedence over everything, I can dabble a bit in programming but that's about all.
I have many ideas/dreams about things I'd like to accomplish in the creative/computer programming world but since it's not something I have been doing for years, I'm kind of limited in my progress.

Nov 02 2016 23:46
hmm, so i changed literally a single line of js and committed it to my gh-page, and now it can’t load the assets…I’m thinking it’s just a gh-pages bug, probably resolve itself, but I have employers looking at my repos, so hopefully not for long…thoughts @Lilyheart
site runs great on localhost server

Nov 02 2016 23:51
Yea that was pretty cool
Eric Phy
@SimplyPhy
Nov 02 2016 23:58
The crazy thing is, i didn’t change anything in any of the files that are failing; i just added one extra object property to my jsx file, which runs no errors, and is completely and utterly unrelated.
hmmmm
