Happy Snow Day everyone. Hope travels have been safe for those who had to go out.
Anyone get the day off and maybe use it to code?

Nice! If you ever want to stream during a chat, we can set that up on the youtube stream with the chat.montcode.com page. Just let me know.

alright using force push in the deployment script, not the best, but if it works, it works
@Jhighl I haven't made a game in a couple years so this might not go well lol
and my last game was on a completely different platform

Wish I could afford to go back to school. I'm trying to teach myself, and there's so much to learn

I hear you on that one @TScottM12 . While I am in school, what I am learning isn't web development which is one of the types of programming I really enjoy. So, I try to take classes as well as learning all the web stuff on my own. With so many different things to learn, it can be hard to just sit down and really focus on one piece until proficiency. I had to start a binder of all the things I wanted to learn/web courses I wanted to take just so I could keep track of it all.

I need to start doing that. Find a way to get more organized. I've got courses on Udemy and elsewhere that I purchased almost a year ago but haven't gotten to; other courses I've done half of but haven't finished before I get preoccupied with something else.

alright yay deployment solved
Time to begin creating the game, anyone that wants to see the code can go to the github repo: https://github.com/davidjcastner/color-game. or if you want to see the game in action go to: https://davidjcastner.github.io/color-game/

ooooooooh
@TScottM12 Here is a sample page from my notebook. I know that organization wise it's over the top but that is part of the design. If the course isn't worth writing it up and breaking it down into milestones, then the course isn't worth taking to begin with. There are plenty of things out there to learn. Sorrynotsorry for the censored bit. I came up with a project I want to do as an end goal for learning web dev and that goal isn't public and this chat room is :p The dot on pending is just a removable transparent sticker that can be moved when a class is started etc.

If you PM me your email address (don't post here, google does spider this page) I'll email you the temples I use.
I cut paper in half and just print on the half sheets. The binding is the staples arc system.

// This program computes how fast a bike is traviling along a road by measuring

// Well formatted output

Not sure if we have any c++ writers in the chat atm.
Jhighl
@Jhighl
Feb 09 2017 23:05
You guys happen to know how to make the second outputs be tied to a equation. It asks for rpm and i need to convert it to MPH it just shows ("MPH")
lol ok am on my own then
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Feb 09 2017 23:06
If I had to hazard a guess, the line cout << ("MPH"); is sending to cout the string "MPH" thus the double quotes around it. I don't know how to make it a variable but I think that "MPH" needs to be changed to whatever variable is holding the value.
Something on this page should help http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/basic_io/

@Jhighl That's good. I don't know the math behind it but it looks like there is a start of something there.
