    @SimplyPhy
    @davidjcastner so far I like Jasmine, though I definitely need more BDD experience to really judge.
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    @SimplyPhy if you post you project that uses Jasmine to github, can you share it with me. I would love to take a look
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    Sure, though I'm not sure you'll find it impressive 😬
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    @SimplyPhy the fact that you are already using BDD having only just started learning web dev is impressive so don't sweat it
    It's something I had to learn the hard way
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    Thanks, I actually have udacity to thank full-heartedly for it
    I don’t think I even encountered bdd in my research prior to be directly told to learn it
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    Testing is extremely important (and it doesn't seem like it at first, but as a project grows or you have to maintain it) and it's way easier to use the approach of test first develop after rather than develop first test after
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    Yeah, and it's nice that the test suite remains active as the app grows, so you know you're not breaking old features with new ones

    @SimplyPhy
    @Lilyheart @davidjcastner any idea how to remove indentation on a line in markdown/
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    What type on indentation. Markdown is made not to be customizable on purpose so chances are the answer is "its not possible"
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    I got past it by just using html in the markdown xD
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    @SimplyPhy looks awesome! nice job!
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    Finished front-end nano :D

    @Lilyheart
    Congrats!

    @davidjcastner
    Woo! Congrats!!!

    @Lilyheart
    How is the weekend goin'?
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    Not bad, took yesterday off, though spent the morning planning out how best to move forward
    back at it today, though not feeling particularly pressured at the very moment
    you?
    I think I’d like to give slack a shot, and i want to try paired programming
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    By what do you mean slack? It's a chat app like gitter.
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    yeah just watched the intro video, i thought it was more, though still looks good :D
    gitter and groupme are what i’m active with currently
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Not just anyone can join a slack channel and immediate start chatting without some admin finagling. When choosing a place to put MontCode, I looked at slack, but it is not straightforward for new people to sign up. So annoying. There is a philly dev chat room on slack somewhere, I can find the link at some point later. A lot of things can be programmed to integrate with slack, but so can gitter. Gitter is just newer so doesn't have as much integration already created. I chose gitter because it's closely tied with GitHub. Anyone wanting to join MontCode should have a GitHub account so don't need some extra log in. Also, it's the place FreeCodeCamp has decided is the chat hom and FCC is the core of MontCode.
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    yup, i wasn’t at all saying i thought something was wrong with gitter, nor that montcodes place on gitter is less than ideal; i only brought up an interest in slack because a: i see it references in employers “good to haves” sometimes, and b: i thought it had paired-programming in mind
    now i see it’s just another chat utility with some company-minded features and assortment of app integrations
    still cool, but completely disconnected (for me) from any discussion pertaining to anything related to montcode
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    xD I was just sharing my experience with slack :p as you said you were interested.
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    cool, yeah i really want to try paired programming though
    it’s another thing that employers seem to want, and i think i have a huge learning potential from it
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Remote paired programming is a very different animal from in person paired programming. Just fyi.
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    yeah, i read about it a bit, but nonetheless
    i might even just find some youtube videos of experienced programmers going at it in javascript, just to see what i learn from it
    though ill have to find time for that, where my attention can be devoted to a video…maybe while eating
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Ha. Yeah. I always have to speed up videos xD
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    I’m reading this article right now and i’m a little disconcerted by my lack of knowledge related to the terms used. I imagine that lack of knowledge is obviously directly related to my inexperience, but alas largely due to me never being around other programmers. :goat:
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    HAL9000 was reset to the last backup I took in May (Doesn't get changed often so I don't back much xD). Seems to be behaving much better now so I don't think it was the SD card. ( @dcpking ).
    JavaScript is sooooooo huge.
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    yeah, i’m getting much better with my knowledge of the language, but the terminology used between developers is still largely foreign to me
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Tho that is an Eric Elliot post, and I would trust anything JS written by him.
    Follow him on twitter. You'll get knowledge... fast....
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    jargon
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Even if you don't use twitter... make an account, follow a few big names just for the exposure to terms.
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    yeah, i suppose i should begin integrating twitter into my social hub
    actually, i should integrate into a social hub in the first place xD
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    I stick interesting articles that get posted on twitter into instapaper when I can't read them right away. Then on the "day off" usually Saturday, I go through instapaper.
    You can usually tell when as I link dump on here and Facebook :p
