    thats all of the code i have
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    the div it’s inside of is 70% width of the page
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    so what should i do?
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    so when the image is 100%, it expands to fill that div (it’s parent/container), and the height will automatically be set basics on the image’s aspect ratio
    in other words: either resize your div, or resize the image
    by the way, since you’re so concerned: i sort of figured out my issue :P
    vertical-align needs to be overridden from baseline, apparently
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    sorry eric
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    ha no worries, i just began doing all this full time 4 months ago
    believe me i’ve asked a million questions
    we all feel stupid, don’t worry
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    its hard to focus my brain atm my headache has not gone away and it started yesterday morning
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    yup, we [mostly] all have fun health doodads as well
    it’s all very lovely
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    i think the stress i have in math is doing it
    i feel like i am getting the coding down for web design easier than the math
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    proofs?
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    what do you mean?
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    do you have to write proofs for the math stuff
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    no i am in math 100
    advanced alegebra
    and since my teacher canceled the class for 8 times now
    i am not learning really much of anything
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    just go here, search the topic you have to know, and learn it there
    trust me
    i just saved your brain
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    i think i going to take a break of coding for the day and start again tomrrow maybe when my head is not throbbing
    x=the amount of times that jimmy's head throbs
    how many times does it throb
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    x
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    let x be more than 1 time lol
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy

    @davidjcastner
    anyone know if there is a java package manager similar to npm
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    also taking names for a java test driver package, I'm thinking a coffee or tea related beverage for the name
    like caramel macchiato or green tea latte
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    reserve roast :D
    p.s. thinking through react is turning out to be a challenge
    i’m working towards a breakthrough of really understanding the pattern flow
    oddly enough, i feel like i understand it, but as I work through my apps code, it’s still a struggle
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    okay i am struggling with this stupid image again
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    @JBC944 what are you trying to do with the image, and if you have a code pen, feel free to share it
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    i am trying to make the image stretch to fit the div
    and i been trying everything and i tried making image bigger but it took up the whole page
    @JBC944 here's how you can accomplish it. If you share your code, I can help identify if you are running into problems due to other html elements getting in the way or messing up the layout
    and i need to get more pictures on the menu and i tried adding another image and it screwed up everything

    @davidjcastner

    One thing that might be causing issues is that your html tags aren't closed properly.

    <!-- look at your code here -->

        <div class= "traycontainer"</div>
        <img src="images/Food/tray.jpg" alt="tray of hoagies"width="200px;" height="200px;"/>
        </div>

    try closing the tags and seeing if that helps you

    <!-- revised section -->

        <div class="traycontainer">
            <img src="images/Food/tray.jpg" alt="tray of hoagies"width="200px;" height="200px;"/>
        </div>
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    did not work
