    I liked the school but last I looked they didn't have much in the way of computer science.

    @JBC944
    what schools have computer science
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    It's a matter of just going to each school's website and seeing what they offer. I usually use their search function and search for degree and look at the list.
    I just had a note from a few years back under GM saying wrong degree focus

    too bad my advisor wont assist me
    i bet he will be late for my appointment again
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    It's not the advisor's job to look up 100's of schools to see which ones have which degree. I'll add to that each school's Computer Science degree is set up differently and you really need to read all the details of each one to see which one is most aligned with what you want to learn. Just having a CS department isn't enough.

    @JBC944
    I want web development
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    You need to look at what colleges are physically located in the area you can travel to and look of their degree list on their website.
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    okay i be back after dinner going out
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    @lantech19446 where are you at in Odin? (i.e. how much catchin' up do I have to do?)
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Ha @SimplyPhy xD OdinProject promotes the timer portion of the pomodoro technique lulz. link for anyone who doesn't know the technique
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    I think I'm going to call it a night for myself.
    Library meetup tomorrow night!
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    :D
    yeah i probably still should get the pomodoro going, though in all likelihood my new job will have me on an agile team, and then we’ll have micromanaged time regardless
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    truth
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    @Lilyheart wow, so far 4/5 of the code challenge’s unit tests have at least one mistake
    it’s almost like it was done on purpose
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    shocked not shocked xD They were written by a python programmer with only a passing knowledge of other languages.
    They seriously better call me before their next meetup xD :laughing:
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy

    @Lilyheart lol! 5/5! xD

    wow

    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    snarf xD
    and that looks really funny if you have no idea what the test was xD

    @Lilyheart still just in the beginning of web 101 my anniversary took precedent the last few days
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Oh that def takes precedent! Grats!
    I've done the first two steps of web 101 xD
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    I'm on step 5 so you'll catch up by today
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    xD School takes precedence here :cry:
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    yea fortunately if i'm not horribly busy at work I get to do a lot at once

    @dcpking
    @Lilyheart Hi! I'm hoping to get there this evening, but will definitely be late - waiting and waiting for a 7 GB download!
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    heh, roads are not bad but other drivers are. No worries.
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    oh and @dcpking it's not like there is a party at a new location like I thought. Still workin' on that.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    @dcpking you're alive!
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    Hey guys, if any of you are looking to touch up on your algorithm skills (many languages supported), use the following link to sign up for codewars :D. Using the link to sign up will give me 'honor' (yup :D), but the site is actually pretty cool, and a good practice tool for anyone with at least basic programming skills.
    @dcpking you return! :D
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    @SimplyPhy if you would have come to the meetup, you would have met xD j/knotj/k
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    😔🤓📈💼
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    How did it go?
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    It went well, though I accidentally used slice in place of split in my code challenge, and wrote the algorithm mostly imperatively, whereas it would have been cleaner and more readable if I wrote it with declarative syntax. Once I got home I did a couple on Codewars and then were much better, especially with the use of chaining.
    But yeah all around I think it went quite well. I'll know more either today or first thing next week. Now I have another interview in 4.75 hours
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    I don't think I've posted this here. Good read imperative-vs-declarative-programming
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    And then 1 or 2 tomorrow
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    crossing my fingers for you!
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    Thanks me too :). Basically just nonstop code challenges now to maximize my proficiency with niche algorithm problems
    Anybody going to barcamp this weekend? I'll be there
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    I'm currently crashing the intro to web dev class on campus
    holy hell is that this weekend?
