    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    I've only been in there once the incessant yelling singing and ringing of bells was enough for me
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Thats.... not normal
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    the one in English village was the closest to me at the time, I don't know what the bells were for but they were definitely part of normal store stuff they were permanently mounted to every aisle and whatever they were being rung for was when people would check out, I think if they saved a lot of money or something but it was accompanied by lots of like yelling and fake celebration. there were also times when all four cashiers would break into chorus like singing
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    I can honestly say I've never experienced that. A rare random bell ring to call a manager over, but that's it. EV is where I mostly go now that I don't work in KoP
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    that was the first and last time I went in, now i mostly go to Wegmans around 11 or midnight so I can shop in peace it's quiet no one else is in the store I can get in and out no traffic in between etc

    Hello! I was wondering if anyone could recommend some places to learn about networking in python. I'd like to write a few applications that communicate over the internet, but I just don't know anything about networks. Thanks!
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    @mhassell I would start looking up how to write an http client and server in python. Not sure of any resources off the top of my head, but if I find anything I'll send it your way
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    @mhassell This article looks good for explaining Vaux networking and how to make a http server. https://ruslanspivak.com/lsbaws-part1/

    omg the new chat sucks lol wtf even on dark mode
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Yeah, I was chattin' about it earlier. I am not thrilled... at all... I need to make a css style sheet or something to fix the biggest issues.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    you can actually do that?
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    just for my own view. using an extension like Stylish or Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    ah ok
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    may have to mess around with it, make it completely transparent except for the text lol
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    which browser do you use? Chrome?
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    right now I'm using firefox but I can use chrome, this would also require me using the web version of gitter which I don't know if I really want too
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    either one has stylish. stylish is easier but it's css only.
    firefox has greasemonkey, chrome has tampermonkey. These let you write css or javascript and it's more complicated but more flexible.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    sounds interesting, just telling the guys in TOP about it since I mentioned my idea for messing with poeple

    @davidjcastner I think I mentioned this to you a bit ago. I found it! It's python in Java! heh

    @Lilyheart
    Now that I've figured out how to pin MontCode to the left bar and the dark mode has been released, I don't hate the new version as much as I did (still not thrilled tho...)
