    I cant figure out why the image is not working
    in my style guide
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    well on codepen it cannot access your local images so that's why it's not loading on codepen. @JBC944
    Your code says .././final_project_folder/Logo/mc3-logo.jpg The problem is in the .././ part. Where is the file in relation to your html file?
    ../ means go up one folder in the folder tree. . means the current folder the html file is in. They really can't be used together like that to accomplish anything.
    Well, I guess technically they can but the ./ one does nothing.

    Given this example, you start in html_lives_here. Lets break down the file reference.
    The ../ says go up a folder in the folder tree. Now you are looking in parent_folder.
    The ./ says stay whatever folder I'm in. You are still in parent_folder
    The final_project_folder/ part means now to go into the final_project_folder folder.

    I don't think this is the file structure you actually have however.

    @JBC944
    the html page is in the final project folder

    where is the image file of the image that isn't showing up in relation to your html file?
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    its in the file called images in the final project file

    the answer to that is the answer to what the path should look like.

    Want to make sure you saw my last message @JBC944 as I think we sent them both at the same time xD

    the answer to that is the answer to what the path should look like.

    @JBC944
    what should it look like
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    It looks like your book talks about file paths on pages 85-89.
    JBC944
    @JBC944
    okay thanks i will take a look at it
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    I promise I'm not trying to be difficult by not just giving you the answer. Understanding how file paths work is crucial , vital and very very important so if you are wanting to switch to a comp sci major, it's something you need to figure out and know <3

    Hello everyone....when the heck is this brutal wind going to die down, Argh! Need to put out the recycles and don't want the stuff blowing over into the street. Already saw that tonight. Anyway, I need help with JavaScript. I love doing it on the Khan Academy, it's easy and straightforward. But when I try doing it on Codepen it's not working. What's the difference between the two?
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    @KR62 Can you post a link to one of the pens that are not working?
    when I enter in any kind of Html text it shows up right away but not the JS. I don't know Codepen so it's probably something real simple.

    It looks like there are a few bits missing but canvas isn't my strong suit. I'll try to give it a gander tomorrow if someone else doesn't swoop in and figure out first. @SimplyPhy and @davidjcastner might be able to see the specific issue quicker xD Otherwise, tomorrow during chat time i'll figure out.
    KR62
    @KR62
    thanks Lily. I went over to the HelpJavaScript window but I don't understand what they are telling me.
    Eric Phy
    @SimplyPhy
    @KR62 KA imports a library of canvas functions for you; I forgot what it is but it should tell you in one of the first js lessons, or you could google it.
    So yeah, the rect() and some other stuff like that aren't browser functions, they're imported (someone else wrong them), and you have access to call them in the KA environment.

    I had to add a library to the JS script. Someone at HelpJavaScript gave me the link, I plugged it in and now my Pens work, Yay!! I'm psyched. Take a look.
