    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    a little. didn't enjoy it
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    I'm not sure I would and I'm not sure if i would want to go the way of a web app that would run on andoid, iphone etc or a true platform specific app. A question I have whichever direction I go is how do these options handle bluetooth?
    also having issues with gitter at home the left third of my screen where the room list is isn't coming up under the night theme
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    i haven't done and mobile specific programming yet
    I have gotten much better at soldering after 13 hours of it, not sure if that will help you though
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    lol maybe eventually, not with this project lol
    David Castner
    @davidjcastner

    I think I should start sharing the insights I have gained so far:

    Pro Tip: to avoid your fingertips burning, wrap them in electrical tape so it only hurts a little when you need to push wires closer together

    David Castner
    @davidjcastner
    I'm done for tonight, going to write my history paper that's due tomorrow
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    sounds like fun, have a good night
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart

    @davidjcastner
    my code is so naughty, I have a js class that constucts html emails and one of the methods is getHead() which returns the entire head tag
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Oh my
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    lol
    Dave that would tempt me to make a .deepHead class or something just to mess with people
    Lily Romano

    @lantech19446 that vid you posted over in the odin chatroom is one of my favorite videos of that man. I swear he is my Spirit Animal.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    I completely agree, I also love finding some of his more insulting moments. That man is sheer brilliance at ever level lol
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    heh. I believe we are in the minority with that belief xD
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    possibly lol
    so you have taste... in a way that matters to programmers lol
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    oh man have I meet some programmers with some very... very... strong... feelings against that man. /shrug
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    yea I mean if you can't appreciate the flame wars he gets into or have porcelain skin you're not going to like him \
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    xD my skin is pretty porcelain but I can still appreciate the man.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    idk the way people cry when he says he doesn't like their code instead of asking well what would you change and just trying to argue back I guess that's what i mean by porcelain skin.
    I really would love to meet him some day, maybe I'll have the money to hear him speak somewhere eventually

    One of my managers is designing a website in wordpress and was trying to get the page to scroll to different positions. I had to explain to him how an anchor was could be a link, a spot on the page, or both. Here's the code I wrote to show him:

    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
      <head></head>
      <body>

        <a id="top-of-page" href="#bottom-of-page">Go to bottom</a>

        <!-- spacer -->
        <div style="height:2048px;width:1px;"></div>

        <a id="bottom-of-page" href="#top-of-page">Go to top</a>

      </body>
    </html>

    Apparently this amazed him so much he took a picture of my code with his phone, and I was like "I can email it to you"

    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    that's hysterical.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    ya know who really drives me nuts listening to @Lilyheart
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Who dat?
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    Richard Stallman
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Heh. I blame the hair
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    his voice and speech patterns just drive me nuts like the way he says Linux
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Whenever I hear stallman's name I hear Gary Gnu new saying no Gnus is good Gnus.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    lol
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    But Gary has a lot of hair.
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    I'll have to check it out
    the only thing stallman has ever said that I found in the least bit amusing is that he's saint ignucias the pope of the church of emacs
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    lol
    Jonathan Herman
    @lantech19446
    so I get that github is the defacto standard for pretty much the entire industry at the moment and has been for several years but are there any pros to things like google code? I know source forge has become kind of suspect over the last 2-3yrs
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    google code is dead. But, there are alternatives. Bitbucket is a favored one.
    Bitbucket runs on a git backbone as well.
    git = linus. github = a website that hosts git repositories online. bitbucket = a website that hosts git repositories online.
