oh okay perfect, just double checking, I might of made that mistake when I first started
Montgomery County Community College
James Peruggia
@bereachad
what do they focus on there? Java or C++, where I went to college it was a C++ shop
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Java shop
We have a several MCCC students and some Delaware County Community College students that I'm aware of.
One person finished freeCodeCamp front end and has a job now. One person went through Udacity and has a job now.
It's a wide range of students xD
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
I'll be a bit more afk'ish soon. Dinner almost.

@Ryzilynt
holy crap ... free code camp is 2080 hours? I had no idea. That's an entire year of full time work...
If I can set aside 20 hours a week it will only take me two years
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
For some things is a great overestimation imo.
You already have coding background. Some sections you are gonna FLY through.
Robert Marcy
@Ryzilynt
so it is 2080 hours equivalent? they dont require that many hours be logged?
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
No. They made educated guesses about how long each section would take. Average case (maybe leaning towards worst case). Then added up all the sections.
you don't even "need" to do all the sections to get the cert if you have background. The "get the cert" page will say what sections need to be done.
Robert Marcy
@Ryzilynt
seems like a pretty cool oppurtunity
Robert Marcy
@Ryzilynt
ok, so far i'm up to section 60 ... where is everyone else? how far do i need to go to catch up?
Robert Marcy
@Ryzilynt
ok , up to 81 , calling it a night

Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
All over the place really. Some just started. One finished front end that I know of. I'm close to finishing frontend. I'm not sure where David is. I'd say most people are probably in the big JavaScript section though.
Robert Marcy
@Ryzilynt
I think I'm almost finished the cat phone app. Someone already sent me brownie points for helping in chat , what can I buy with those ? :)
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Ha! They add to your total points in the upper right of your screen and fill in that block on your profile page.
@MontBot will do that too xD
thanks @Ryzilynt
MontBot
@MontBot
lilyheart sends brownie points to @ryzilynt :sparkles: :thumbsup: :sparkles:
Tho I've been meaning to change it from brownie to cookie... cuz it's a cookie pictures xD (Or @SimplyPhy was gonna before he was swallowed up by his new job :laughing: )
MontBot likes to sleep a lot however and you have to wake them up if you want something xD The web address is in the header message of the chat room. Someday I'll move them over to somewhere where they can always be awake. montbot.herokuapp.com
I'm off to get ready for school!

@/all The Spring 2017 MontCode schedule is done after David and I spent hours pouring over all of ya'lls wonderful responses. A few changes:
Weekly online chats will now be Thursdays (subject to change while we find the best day).
Matt Richards
@mattjrichards
anybody awake?
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
I am but probably shouldn’t be xD
Matt Richards
@mattjrichards
lol...feel like helping me with something? If you're about to go to sleep I can get help in FCC chat.
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
Browsing nonsense in the dark xD
What’s up?
Matt Richards
@mattjrichards
I'm trying to figure out why when I make changes in my main.css file they don't reflect in the browser. I'm using Atom with Chrome and LiveReload.
Some changes work, but others don't.
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
what isn’t?
@davidjcastner you ever use livereload?
Matt Richards
@mattjrichards
I don't think it's the LiveReload. I think it might have something to do with the links I have in the <head> in my html.
Lily Romano
@Lilyheart
You want to put some of the snippet code here you think is the issue? To put code up type three backticks (grave symbol found on the key with the ~ ) then hit shift enter, put it the code, shift enter again and three more backticks. Put it in an easier to read code block.
