    @Lilyheart I am in the process of trying to figure that out :) I have done a bunch of the more traditional stuff from school (C/C++/Java), but am now getting into web dev, which I am really enjoying. I am hoping to finish my dissertation soon and work in industry, but I don't know what sort of job I would really enjoy.

    I can understand that! I'm not sure what direction I want to go either so I do Java during school (I'm 1/2 to my associates at the moment) and web dev on breaks.

    @davidjcastner has spent more time in frameworks. I tend to focus on vanilla code to understand the underlying bits and bobs. David will see my tag here when he's out of class. What are you looking to do? needs? etc?

    I want to create an interface that allows people to access their Twitter data and create custom audio notifications for the different people that they follow.

    I have created a prototype version in Java, but want to make a version that looks really clean and is easier to distribute. Plus learning new stuff is fun :)

    @davidjcastner thanks. Once I have that I should be able to hit onto it pretty quickly. The settings I have are not doing it but I use very little of the settings :/

    @kewolf Sorry I'm not very chatty. I'm in super debug mode @ _@. HA! Taking a computer organization and architecture class this semester although class just started. Last class we built logic gates but in software form.
    Haven't heard from @lantech19446 in awhile. Everything okay over there?

    No problem! That was my least favorite class!! I had a really crummy professor who would always go off on tangents... logic gates are fun! I am waiting for some matlab code to run (doing some analysis of log data from I collected from people using an interface I built), and reading about random web dev stuff.

    got tied up after that too, i've been trying to build a NAT server for the library , last week I was building a spam gateway and missed chat entirely

    I've put a pause on debugging until I get that config file. Now I have to email a few professors to try to get recommendation letters. Blargh

    People are talkin' about issues with IRC gitter. Not sure if you are using the web interface or one of the apps. I think the apps might use the irc api so that would make sense.
