    ha, yeah, sorry. Not used to the real name vs screen name bits.

    Nice to meet you Adam and Lily.
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    You should fix that Adam :p
    Serena E. Kim
    @SerenaKim_gitlab
    So how does this work? You send over your code to someone for assistance? Is that it?
    G7470
    @G7470
    My skills are slowly deteriorating right now
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    depends on what's going on, how much code it is, what sites you are comfortable with etc.
    Serena E. Kim
    @SerenaKim_gitlab
    OK. But you just ask someone if they can take a look at your code?
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    @SerenaKim_gitlab I suggest learning markdown for making chatting easier https://github.com/adam-p/markdown-here/wiki/Markdown-Cheatsheet
    Here is a reference on typing code directly into the chat https://www.freecodecamp.org/forum/t/free-code-camp-official-chat-rooms/19390
    formatting there is essential.

    @SerenaKim_gitlab
    Thanks. I have a lot to learn.

    @Lilyheart
    I know Adam outside of chat so I'm kinda familiar with what he already knows so I can cheat there. Generally just asking in the chat room might net you an answer from a random person.
    if it's short, you can type code in a single line like I did with the memcpy
    if it's a lot of code, that is why that second link is important, I'll post my code in a sec with my question to Adam so you can see what that looks like.
    Even bigger code blocks, using github gist work okay. But really, if the question can't be explained in... oh I hesitate to tie a number to it... but lets say 10-15 lines of code, then you may want to work on what the question is because the question is too big for someone to answer quickly. And if more code than that is needed, it's probably better to ask the instructor. What are you thoughts on that @G7470 ?
    Serena E. Kim
    @SerenaKim_gitlab
    Thanks for the information. Very helpful.

    @G7470
    Sounds good to me @Lilyheart

    @Lilyheart
    I have this code
            //somewhere I have this
            char *thisCommandArgs[ishellargs_num];
            //then some looping do/while code to fill in each of the pointers like the follow
            thisCommandArgs[nextCmdIndex] = strdup(token);
            //it all prints fine with this code
            for (int i = 0; i < ishellargs_num; i++) {
                    printf("*%s*\n", thisCommandArgs[i]);
            }
            //then if I memcopy
            memcpy(&lastCommandArgs, &thisCommandArgs, sizeof(thisCommandArgs));
            //then print using a similar for loop to above on lastCommandArgs I get a segfault
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    giving up on copying arrays in C. too much of a pain in the ass. going to just keep the original input string and tokenize if ever needed. better memory management anyway.
    I wonder what bash does when you ask for an argument of the previous command. I would guess check ~/.bash_history and parse from there.
    G7470
    @G7470
    That would be my guess too
    Haven't used bash in a little while
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    you primarily windows these days?
    Lily Romano

    @G7470
    I was baking all night. Made a bunch of peanut brittle for a work party tomorrow. :)
    Lily Romano
    @Lilyheart
    Hmmm. I think I can keep this on topic... How did they compile? Any issues with the build process? I hope your project was bug free!
    User tester approved? xD
    If I had to guess your favorite part, I would say it was unit testing, a departure from a normal project :p
    G7470
    @G7470
    They compiled quite successfully! No issues with the build process, minus needing assistance with the final assembly. It seems to be bug free! The unit testing was in fact the favorite part :P
    User acceptance testing will be at noon, so I shall see whether or not the clients are satisfied with my project

    @Lilyheart
    I'm not sure how around I'll be. I'm in the land of bad internet.
