Slack kept pissing me off because of it's unability to understand ``code`` like gitter and github do
Then I realised that it's just single backticks and that works across gitter and github too. Some markdown readme mislead me to misery

1 or 3 ticks...
No 2 for you.

It's hilarious how something as seemingly simple as markdown has massive standardisation issues too
There's quite a few variations out there and a project I follow struggled picking one. I think they settled on http://commonmark.org

That's in part, why it has issues.
It's like json.
At least everyone agrees that it doesn't support comments. :P

And that's a pain.

There's apparently a corner case where it's not a subset of javascript either.
Though, I don't remember.

Maybe something around floating point
Oh, you know what really sucks
Can't remember the right term for it but decimal precision after trailing zero's
You can't reliably enforce 1.000 to stay that way for JSON stuff in general
And it sucks because there are contexts where 1.0 vs 1.000 matters because it signifies the precision of measurement
That pretty much killed my JSON-based project I spent a couple months on when I stumbled upon that.
Rewriting the core libraries to handle it was not part of fun I was having.

I see.
