A few issues with ViaVersion I've noticed (on latest version):
  • When joining on 1.9, your own scoreboard team prefix sometimes doesn't show, so your nametag will be white (only happens sometimes, and other players' nametags are fine)
  • Armour stands riding entities are a lot higher than they are on 1.8 (1.9 thinks they're 'big' armour stands?)
  • Doing BlockCanBuildEvent.setBuildable(true); to fix spec blocking allows 1.9 clients to place blocks where they are standing, suffocating them. This doesn't happen when your on a 1.8 client.

@Matsv First issue: Thanks. Second: Ok, is it not to do with armour stand sizes? I can try comparing armour stands riding entities in 1.8 & 1.9, of one small one normal sized. Third: One I made, its a very obscure issue and probably not worth fixing. I ended up ditching the BlockCanBuildEvent and just did EntityPlayer.k = true to turn on invisibility, which fixes spec blocking. Thanks.
