I've never heard of such a thing as... hating... laravel!
A good API appeals to the most powerful emotion of humanity... laziness
Laravel lets me be most lazy, so I love it!

@SirFaizdat
Aug 08 2016 23:32
Yes
I love it too
But for when I have to use PHP, I use Laravel

@SirFaizdat Looks interesting, basically the same concept as Spring right?

Yes
It's strange how awful languages like PHP and JavaScript are some of the most popular web backend languages

Aug 08 2016 23:45
Hm yeah, probably because it's cheap to host, used by a lot and easy to use

Unfortunately I'll have to deal with them a lot soon

I use JavaScript for nodejs a lot for easy stuff like bots, notification services, minecraft proxy etc

I'm trying to move away from Minecraft (I've been at it for years), so I figured I'd make some apps I've been wanting to make for a while

Web apps with mobile apps to accompany them : o

Nice :).Are you going to create it for a specific platform or use something like Xamarin to have it multi-platform?
Faizaan
@SirFaizdat
Aug 08 2016 23:51
I'm going to be creating it natively on each platform, simply because I want to experience the SDKs of Android and iOS directly
So for web I'll be using Laravel (PHP), and for mobile I'll be playing with Android and iOS
I'm already proficient in PHP and Java, Swift can't be too hard
For the mobile apps, I won't have to do as much work because the data will still be handled and accessed by the web-app via a RESTful API

Ah, yeah I tried android development for a while, it's interesting to see how it works. But it's too much front-end for me to enjoy it

I definitely enjoy backend development over frontend, my designing and positioning skills are terrible
