Should we implement CI on each push to master and PRs? Travis CI is free for open-source projects

Aug 07 2015 13:32
Will it cimpile c#, if so please set it up
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 13:37
Since you are the account owner, you have to log in to Travis CI and flip the switch for Myvar/OsDevKit. I will set it up from the repo side.

Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 13:43
I saw the comment, but I didn't get a chance to take a look at it yet. It sounds promising
Emile Badenhorst
@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 13:43
Yes it compiles to llvm stuff wirmth can the be oushed unto gcc
It chould be cool and because we are using gcc we can mix c aa

@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 13:44
So if you wrote cide in c like a driver you can use it in c#
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 13:45
If that's the case, then at some point we might just end up in the same spot as Cosmos :)
Emile Badenhorst
@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 13:49
Wel maby yes, if we get the debugging working, and we write an hal in c because its faster, and maby we can develop an std like the c sdt ir dot net

1047Inner exception: Couldn't find assembly 'FastColoredTextBox, Version=2.16.11.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=fb8aa12b994ef61b'

It could just be a limitation of Travis CI. Were you getting an error like this on your local dev machine?
StackOverFlow says it's a bug with xbuild, it doesn't like uppercase letters in file paths
Shoot, that a tricky one to fix without VS
Nvm, fix is on the way in a new PR
Cool just goimg in meeting brb in 30 min
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 14:44
I've done a bit of research. Turns out xbuild cannot find the assembly FastColoredTextBox assembly. May just be a malformed entry in a *.csproj file, or a bad NuGet package.
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 15:04
I think the problem lies in that there is a missing .nuget folder containing the NuGet restore config file. Whenever you get back, see if you can upload that folder through VS or manually through git bash.

Back, i have no pc now im out of town. Did your pr fix it ?
Pr merged
Watching log i think its working
Fail
Emile Badenhorst
@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 15:28
I know how to make nuget autoget
If you can execute an bat at build
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 15:37
Here's the problem: NuGet is failing when the command nuget restore is run. It cannot find your JSON and FastColorTextBox packages.
To retrieve them manually, the script must be able to run on Linux (.sh)
Emile Badenhorst

Failed, same error. I just realized that the computer I'm on has VS 2013. Going to see if I can fix the missing folder.
Emile Badenhorst
@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 16:19
I use vs 2015 with win 10
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 16:21
I just got this computer upgraded to windows 10, but there's not enough space (plus it's not my computer). My dev machine can't run windows 10 so I need to upgrade it first.
*Not enough space for VS2015
Emile Badenhorst
@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 16:22
Lol
That ok i think thay are compatible so no need to upgrade
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 16:24
Nvm, this computer has an expired license for VS 2013 RC. Guess I'll have to wait. My other machines are in storage.
Emile Badenhorst
@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 16:30
Well if your hopeless with ci, you can try sime thing else
And ill take a crack at it tommorw
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 16:32
That sounds like a good idea, I can't get vs 2015 to install without deleting files that aren't mine.
It might be a good idea to merge the branches and work from there. I moved all the files to the root of the repo (lots of people were saying that they were getting errors when they used capital letters in filenames in Linux)
Emile Badenhorst
@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 16:36
O om
Ok
You dont need 2015
2013 works
Its fully compatuble
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 16:37
But the computer I'm on has an expired license for vs 2013 Professional RC. Since it's RC it wants me to upgrade to the main version. But I don't have a key for it (my dreamspark one doesn't work anymore).
Emile Badenhorst
@MyvarHD
Aug 07 2015 16:38
Lol ok comunity vertion is free
Joshua Zenn
@ARMmaster17
Aug 07 2015 16:39
Yeah, but then there's no space (can't delete stuff because it's not my computer)

Sorry, wrong window
