It is better. It goes well with the background behind the logo.
Maybe we can try a vignette effect, or will it be overdoing it?

Vignette effect?
FerEph
@FerEph
It'll cut a bit from the edges

Yes why not that could be nice. The thing is that I'm not sure this specific visual will stay anyway. But again, feel free to play with it and send pull requests. You have full access to the repo.

The first concept with hexagon is better

I like it, but I feel it's very close from :
@marionleborgne what's the CogTech Logo, isn't similar to this brain ?
HuaHo
@HuaHo
haha wow yeah too similar!
thats why having a "brain" in the logo is not suggested because its too common
DDamienP
@DDamienP
Yes its too similar, and maybe you're right and not using a brain

@Sciencelaer
Agreed. Initial design with hexagons was definitely more "unique". Just to be sure, it's supposed to be a skull right? If so, can we just add an inner hexagon with a break in the centre (super minimalistic brain like) to make it more evident? Hopefully you can understand what I mean since my attempted sketch is too useless to even post :-p
DDamienP
@DDamienP
It's not supposed to be a skull but we can see but I don't understand the "break" for the hexagon

@marionleborgne
Also let's make sure we don't have too many hexagons because otherwise the logo will look like nothing when it's smaller
Melian
@Sciencelaer
like, two brain hemispheres made up of triangles... one sec I'll try to add in a picture.

If we go with the hexagons, I also like the idea of splitting in 2
